As for the name of that duck, It could be 'Quacker-Coaster'.

To be frank, that name is terrible and doesn't fit the character at all.

Another thing, this boss seems like it would be quite long, it might be good to have it as it's own level, à la DKC.

Some sort of clever portmanteau of Ringmaster and Roller coaster and Duck.

Castle levels have a midpoint right before the boss, so I don't think that would be necessary. Although if it feels too long/hard, lowering its HP could be another alternative.

The problem is not that people will die on it and have to redo most of the castle, the problem is that it doesn't seem like it could fit inside of a castle. It wouldn't feel right, if you know what I'm saying.

Could the castle level - Fantastic elastic - have an outside section right before the battle?
I don't see how that really effects anything.

Well, the outside section could be on top of the circus tent. The roof of the tent could act like a bouncy floor to fit the attraction's theme. As you reach the end of the tent, you have to ascend some support beams to reach the boss' attraction. It would be just a short outside section with the midpoint at the end of it.

How about "Ringmallard"?

I was thinking about this boss a bit more like World 7 and 9 and I do like the roller coaster idea. IDK if I like the random track layout so much because it kind of doesn't make sense in terms of the fixed design of the roller coaster but it's not that bad.
What I was thinking for this boss is not the conventional way of using a throwable sprite and hitting this boss. Moreso in this fashion, that is, the boss's coaster design is his demise.
The boss (the duck/ringmaster I guess for now as a placeholder) has rigged the roller coaster to be a deathly attraction for Mario. Mario gets onto the coaster car with the ability to jump out of it with the boss right in front of him. The boss attacks could include: throwing items that are common to circus/carnivals: balls (lololz) as footballs, rings, and confetti blasters. The boss can also setup trapdoor tracks to send Mario falling into the abyss and raise walls to crash into them. The only real way to stop this boss is to destroy the two vital weak points of the coaster with an item of some sort. Once they are destroyed the boss falls from the destruction of the coaster and Mario wins that way. As the weak points are being hit, the boss does get mad and starts throwing things at a faster rate.
That's what I think about this one. This boss has potential to be really good.

Wait, instead of a roller coaster, why not use that one idea about the Ferris Wheel?
We already have Coaster Commotion, so why have two coasters?
~
Mario gets into the rigged Ferris Wheel
Duck starts ride
Things happen while the ride goes on a full circle; until Mario comes to where he started again
Mario can get something of some sort to throw at the barker duck; Mario can only attack the duck when Mario's current cart is in view of duck
Mario can jump from cart to cart, although falling down to the ground kills him
If I'm very confusing, please tell me, so.

Wait a second, we have a blimb duck and here again a duck? How uncreative...
couldn't we change the duck to something else? (Example: Clown Dog)
@Shy Guy I like the Idea of a ferris wheel fight, and if I understand you correctly, it "similar" to Reznor fight, except there is no weird bridge to disappear, instead there's only the ferris wheel, right?
What about combining them? The roller coaster has a "indestructible" enemy, which leads to the Ferris wheel (coaster crashes)
1.Phase: DOdging his attacks on coaster
2.Phase Fight on Ferris Wheel
Sounds good to me, and not to long (1. Phase is obviously not like 5 Minutes long)

I agree with Shog. Yeah I don't get why we have two mallards as bosses here ... Kipernal's boss is close to completion and has a well-thought out idea this one will mostly be changed to something else.

Actually, I was thinking of Mario dodging attacks while on the Ferris Wheel. Somehow, he gets a throwable item "thrown at him"
With this, he can throw it at the ringmaster/barker when his current cart is near the boss.
So basically, the "boss" is just a simple sprite (about the size of mario, I don't know how big is that) that takes three hits to die, although runs around or something and gets harder to hit.
Stuff happens while the wheel does its 180, although, Mario can jump to platforms; both up and down, and Mario dies when he falls to the ground.
Although, I do not know how to code that Ferris Wheel; something that goes in circular motion from what I know uses Mode 7, which I don't know how it works.
And I don't know how big the Ferris Wheel will be; it'll be tedious to have to wait for a long time to get to the barker/ringmaster if the Ferris Wheel is like really big.

We can easily say the two ducks are related somehow.

That would actually be a nice touch, since you can choose to do either world 5 or 6. The two ducks could be "brothers" deployed to each world, or something.
...though that wouldn't quite explain the world 2/3 relation, but that's a separate bridge to cross entirely.

Well, both the Dryad and the Tanuki are mythical creatures...
well, at least the shapeshifting part of the racoon dog.

I don't really think we need any relation between Dryad and Tanuki at all, it'd make it more unique that these two are related somehow.

I would have an idea for this boss too (sorry if i'm flooding this place of my request), but only a design idea. Just want to anticipate the name: Willy Donka.
It's not a duck, it's a donkey. it's because we already have a duck right after this world, unless we don't want a kinsman indeed brothers, but i was just proposing something of different.
Edit: I have a quick sketch of Willy Donka.

Isn't the boss here the ringmaster duck? Well, Willy Donka is a reference to Willy Wonka if you ask me.
