Time for some new thoughts.
A boss idea have hit my head yesterday, and i surely made a concept art for it. Here.
Boss Idea
This is - The Image of the Dreamer- as in, she is the very source of the dreamlike world. It's all her dreams, after all, and the world shall exist while she sleeps.
All I have for now, haven't thought on attacks or the like.

Why does it feel you missed a few "dislikers" when skimming the thread, (obvious one being Nimono). Anyway, why have something so heated in argument when there have been other really cool bosses suggested that aren't that ridiculous, such as the inverted phanto doki doki panic thing.

Boss: Deedle ball and soul
Phase 1: The "deedle ball" is shown revived, wearing a helmet with a logo on it,and simply uses a newfound, mechanized attack scheme to try and destroy mario.
Phase 2: Bowser falls through the ceiling (cutscene?) with a vad of acid (Comically with a picture of Kamek on it) That spills all over the creature. It mutates into a horrific being, it's shape can only be descibed as SOMEWHAT</b> similar to big arm from sonic 3. It flings bowser away, and proceeds to attack mario again, although it does not fight like big arm. Unexpected end tag (</b>) at 432, expected </u> Tag (b) was not closed.

I'm very touched by the recent resurgence of Deedle-Support, but honestly, folks I'm fine with the Deedle-Ball simply remaining a joke, faux extra boss as he appears in my own World 9 stage, with some other sort of dramatic conclusion to follow--that's what I had originally intended The Deedle-Boss to be, anyway, before the idea of the disco-themed absurdist opera seized my fancy. And as amusing as I find the Ascended Deedle-Ball idea, I'd really not try to force an idea through that a non-negligible fraction (regardless of whether they prove to mathematical majority or minority when one tallies up the comments here) strongly dislikes; that just goes against the spirit of the collaboration, as we're supposed to be working together not behaving like stumping politicians around election time and arguing over votes and tallies.
In any case, I've since grown considerably more fond of my idea laid out in the last few posts for a crazy, experimental stage with a sort of non-hostile but still dangerous survival boss at the end, who isn't actually trying to harm Mario, nor whom Mario is attempting to harm either, but simply attempting to withstand its excessive hospitality. Remember that this is the bonus boss, not the final boss--we're not trying to outdo what we did in World 8, we're trying to head in a completely different direction. In many ways, having something other than an arch-villain at the end of World 9 seems a more fitting conclusion--it's very different from what you'd normally end such a hack with, but still feels very final and satisfying and captures a certain sense of wonder, which is a good note to end the bonus world on. It has a certain silliness, but doesn't necessarily go into excess. If you're a Deedle-Fan, he still plays an important role in setting up the conclusion, as he is still the guardian of the machine which is badly attempting to direct the flow of this universe, and it is still his sneeze which comically destroys it and send Mario flying high. But if you're a Deedle-Opponent, the spotlight nevertheless shifts in true final conclusion to the nature of this mysterious dimension itself, rather than remaining fixed on the sphere's ego, and we still get a more impressive, awe-inspiring, and a bit more serious, if not overbearing conclusion as our final impression, rather than just a joke, however hilarious and awesome some of us find the punchline. A compromise which lies halfway between two opposed goals is sure to appear unsatisfying to both parties, which is why I'm suggesting striking out in a third direction, and not merely doing something unexpected like my previous suggestion, but something very different on a functional level from what you'd normally expect to find at the end of a hack. That, I think, is more in the spirit of what World 9 is all about, and that's why I think it's the sort of idea most worth pursuing, regardless of how amusing I still find my earlier suggestions.

I REALLY like the idea of "the dreamer" being the boss, as ludus sugested.Imagine: a person (whos asleep) with a very bright glow(to indicate its importance). You must defeat him/her to end the nightmare in wich youre in.It could also get corupted by its own nightmare as the battle follows.AS for attacks, anything, literaly.
In my opinion, it could end up being a very fitting/original/epic boss.

Wait a second...
"Abra, a Psychic Power Pokémon. It sleeps eighteen hours a day, but employs telekinesis even while sleeping."
Sleeping...
Dreams...
Can I have a cookie now?
(No i don't mean that abra should be the boss, i mean the boss should be sleeping during the battle)

OK guys, here's what we have so far for the W9 boss ideas...
A "dreamer" character.
An experimental stage.
The deedle-ball.
A blueberry wizard-type thing.
A reincarnation of Norveg (may or may not be literal).
And many others.
This discussion's been going on for too long. It's time we picked out an idea and stuck with it. Whichever of these gets the most votes will be the the official design of the final boss.
(that couldn't been handled better, but again, I'm writing from the ipod)

I am sticking to my original opinion and voting for the Ascended Deedle Ball with the giant honker. It is still the most creative and fitting idea that I have heard here, even if it is goofy.

What I dislike about the dreamer that it goes into a cliched story: the abstract-y world IS not real.
I like the idea of the player learning at the end that this world, World 9, is real - even though it's an array of mysterious areas.
I say go for the experimental level. It has much possibilities, and it isn't another "dream" enemy.
Plus, the whole dreamer thing is like a rip-off of Super Mario bros. 2 USA
