You actually did not miss anything. Three of us joined the channel, waited for others to join, too, and then dispersed. We will do this soon, though (right?), so you have all kinds of opportunities to join in.

I'll probably show up a couple more times and if there's still a lack of people, well... what's the point? What is it now, the last 2 or 3 have been missed/skipped due to people not showing up?

I'm sure the main reason for people showing up is forgetting about it. I know that's the case for me. If we had some sort of reminder a day or two beforehand (or even the day of the event)...

Well, if those of us who have custom titles could start putting ads in them to act as reminders, that might help. I could also piggyback on a news article, but I don't know if S.N.N. would be okay with that.

I missed last week's due to not being home at all.
We could host one next Friday and make a news article about it or something.

This sounds fun, but yeah, I'd blame the timezone offsets, since like marioVSshadow, I don't really feel like getting up at 4am to compose music. Well, maybe next time if I can, I'd be more than happy to join.

What format is preferable? Is it alright to just upload a recording of myself playing a theme on the piano? As I'm not too sure how I would do it otherwise.

Whatever works. The format doesn't really matter.
Just remember that everyone only has an hour to compose something and we usually pick a particular theme (which is announced in the IRC channel). Keeps things interesting and varied.

Usually it's because I round people up on MSN and get them to come in. Since I wasn't really there to do that, people likely forgot/assumed it was called off.
Seriously though, I really can't believe how random my schedule is these days. I'll have to pick a time where I'm 100% sure there will be no interference on my end.

Oh curses!
I was writing a BIG description for my group hack that I'm starting up, and at 11 O'clock I realise the activity has just finished! How did I miss it!? I should have been there at 10 O'clock! I am such an idiot...

EDIT: It's 26 minutes after 10... No-one on #chocolate...
2nd EDIT: 1 hour and 38 minutes later, still nothing. Perhaps Friday nights aren't the best for people?
