An asteroid rapidly approaches planet Earth.

Although the articles and sources claim it will be a "close encounter", it's more than enough to cause at least some brain damage to the civilians of the world.
It was an honor working with you SMWCentral.
Godspeed.

You sure about that?

It's not supposed to hit us, we won't die. So stop panicing.

My friend told me about this a couple days ago. Told me it was supposed to hit today, big enough to destroy a whole city. Another friend and I laughed at him.

If it did hit hopefully it would hit Iran or something, we need all the help we can get.

Seriously Wiimeiser? I don't think you even know what you're saying.
Anyways, it(the damn asteroid) should be approaching Earth relatively soon. At about 6:20 the tides of the Earth will rise to about 70 feet high and sweep entire towns and cities. Have your floatation devices and dinghies ready.
There's also the possibility of the MOON itself getting blown up causing oceans to lose control and jack aquatic life up. I'm talking flying sharks and raining fish.

No, Leod, clearly the worst possible thing will happen. The asteroid is going to slingshot around earth a few times (Obviously smashing the moon as a result, causing 3 medium sized chunks and a bunch of little moon chunks to hit the earth, causing much panic) before finally smashing down into the earth causing world wide extinction of all life. Obviously.

Wha-what? What? You can't be serious.
That's the sad thing too, you probably are serious. The meteor was never going to hit Earth, but if it was, it would apparently be big enough to cause a whole shit ton of damage. 1,300 Feet is a lot. 1/5 of a mile. That could kill alot of innocent lives (dumbed that down for you). Iran is not full of bad people. It's full of normal people who want to live a normal life, doomed to be stereotyped as bad people because of a small group of idiots who hate the US and blew up two really tall buildings (see 9/11). Then we come like it's nobody's business sending in all the troops to destroy everything, killing anyone in the way. If anything, it's Iran that needs all the help it can get.
I used to feel sorry for you, but damn, now I am sincerely starting to feel a bit of dislike for you. Not even George Carlin would say something like what you said. And we're talking about a man who said thinking about suicide is fun.
ON THE TOPIC OF METEORS, METEOROIDS, ASTEROIDS, AND METEORITES.
It didn't hit us. Woo hoo!

Couldn't have said it better Pikerchur13. Well done.
In regards to the asteroid, congratulations! We have survived!
Stay tuned, because in 2014, there's going to be a sequel!

That's... Entirely untrue.
As for the asteroid: It'll be back. You just wait.

I know, but I wasn't really trying to be completely exact. I mean I'm not going to waste a bunch of time responding to one asshole's idiotic reply, I only spend time on well thought out or interesting replies(see Lieutenantpie) so I sort of dumbed it down and turned it into something different by accident. Oh well, not like it truly matters, I mean it's not like he was right in saying what he said anyway.
Anyway, Agent Q, turns out #2 was just a false alarm.

I was pretty excited about this asteroid coming so close to earth. I've always been interested in space and astronomy so this 1,300 foot monster is a pretty big deal, especially if it was on a collision course here which it isn't.
Cool. Video is cool.
Gee, why didn't all the doomsdayers say the 8th of November was going to be the end of the world? Pretty much anything that flies near us is grounds for people to start panicking.

I do not know if this is the asteroid, but isn't there an asteroid that gets closer and closer to hitting earth every certain amount of years? I saw it on the discovery channel briefly, so I cannot really remember =/
