It has come to the staff's attention that this forum is in need of a few guidelines. Here they are.
- Put some content when introducing yourself!
If you are new to the site, you should tell us a bit about yourself and your interests. You can't just say "hi, I'm new" and call it an introduction.
- Make new users feel welcome!
Introduction threads are for making new users feel welcome, not to increase the postcount of existing users. If all you're going to do is post the same generic one liner post in every introduction thread you find, then you shouldn't post at all. You should put some decent content in your posts when you introduce someone.
- Don't post in old introduction threads!
It should be obvious enough that when a user has been active for some time, there is no point on introducing him/her anymore. Bump policies may be stricter than usual in this forum.
- This forum is for introductions, not for farewells!
Leaving threads are not allowed because they tend to bring a lot of drama. If you are leaving the site, do it silently.
- Similarly, returning threads are not allowed!
Cool. You're back. Make a post in the Bar & Grill, or put something in your profile to let people know that you've returned. This forum is for new users.
- Only make an Introduction thread within thirty days of your first post!
Making a post here within the first few posts or the first few days of your time here is the best thing to do.
