You may have been wondering exactly what I have been up to. One thing I always wanted to do is work with Kingrayons more. Not much is known about them. Their natural form varies and often look like parts of different animals. Some have fur, some have scales, and some even have feathers. However, most are a mix of them all. Their DNA is unique in that it is not just ordinary DNA, it is powered by the Albu de Folraise to allow them to manipulate their body into forms of other creatures known and not known.
When Mazon and Chester created several experiments, the Dragon and Kingrayon are probably the most influential in the long run in that they have an interesting history and hand in creating the future's history.
They were both created with "Strength Endurance Training" or otherwise known as torture by many of the subjects. However, later it proves to be the case of later enduring the power of the Albu de Folraise. When a Kingrayon first transforms back into a human or into any other creature, they feel a warm light and a slight massage and then instantly feel all of the pain done during "Strength Endurance Training" all in a mere second. If done improperly, it could end up killing them or leaving them permanently an abomination.
Dragons and Kingrayons both have Dark Diamond bones- a mysterious diamond with the power to resist most things that could crush or destroy normal bones. The scales of a dragon are a stronger version of the bones. Although you might think of it as some dark looking gem, Dark Diamonds are actually easily manipulated with the colors of surroundings.
So I wanted to draw more attention to some of the great creatures of the series. What would be a good first short story book than a Kingrayon's Tale?
It is the tale of Sara Wilkins and her life changing from the most bizarre of events. She also has the amazing ability to read people well and their intentions. With this ability she used to work with the police department near her home town. She was about to be engaged by a man she had known all her life. That all changed when she met Jake.
Sometime later she find herself as...a Kingrayon in a forgotten cell. Now she most learn of her abilities and help this new world of Desteria from the dangers of the Shattered Void Islands- the result of an experiment that manipulated the flow of time to allow life to begin a new chapter.
She is not alone as a young dragon named Scrydan joins her as well as some other companions. From a town in danger of becoming totally caught in total corruption, to a princess kidnapping proposal, you are bound to find an adventure before you!
The story is written in both first person as "Sara's Journals" and third person focused on her. The first person touch puts in words that only she could say and third brings it all together. It is a work of progress but in any case, please enjoy.
Here's the prelude:
Originally posted by Sara, October 18, 2081Okay. I’m going to just start out by saying my journey has been a long and tiring one. I could say that it was magical and epic. Perhaps I could say more but you would like it better and perhaps care more if I gave you some prospective. First off, my name is Sara. I don’t know my last name and for all I know I could be Sara Braveheart or Sara Guineapig but only time will tell. Before this mess of a nightmare, I was going to be proposed to by the man I thought I had loved. I lived an almost dream-like life. That would almost be true but let’s just face it, life isn’t perfect. Deal with it.
I remember my mom giving some wise advice when it came to certain situations. My mother heard of the saying ‘When life gives you lemons’. She made her own saying in that regard. “When life gives you lemons, plant the seeds from the lemon and grow a tree. Patience is needed but after several years you will see the grand result and during all that time you have a tree with nice aromatic leaves.” However, my dad was the one to always jump in when boys were involved. I actually don’t remember too much during those times because I usually ignored those conversations with him. I knew who I wanted.
David Rahl was a man who knew what he wanted and as a kid he stood for it. I had known him since the beginning of school and he lived right next door to my house. He always stood up to bullies and kids who didn't care about others. As an adult, he told me that I was going to be the happiest woman alive one day. He mentioned that we were a lot alike and that those with great minds often seek one another to become one. He has it in his eyes. He was close to proposing. I could see it in his face. He knew I knew it. He knew of my amazing ability to read people.
I worked as a consultant for the police department. Not that I was ever in any real danger- that would be a lie, sorry. To be honest, I mean I never tried to put myself in any real danger but it was always possible one person on the other end of the table would call his ‘people’ over for a chat and I may end up being kidnapped. How ironic I tell you that. As it so happens, I was speaking with a person who was on the top suspect list to the cold blooded murder of 12 children. It was sick and disgusting to think that a man who was a father would go and do something like that. At least, that’s what his face wanted us to believe. I have seen the man behind that human coil. It wasn’t a father, at least not anymore. It was a man stricken with grief due to doctors making one fatal error and ended up with his wife dying before she gave birth. I could see that he blamed the child instead of the doctors.
He wanted to take it out on kids. His mind was not well and prison would not help him. George was freaking bonkers. George Cluham was not a man known for violence and he at first was not even a suspect at least until I found evidence he was in fact not that well in the head. However he is innocent. That’s right; you are looking at a man who would never actually harm a kid. Even though he blames the birth giving process that would have given him a son or daughter. It was the worst possible setup if I never did see one. I motioned over my boss, Tom Franks. “He is telling the truth. Whoever did do this knows him very well.” I said with extreme confidence. I almost felt as if my life hanged on this man seeing my way as well that George was innocent. “I spoke with a person who may actually know Mr. Cluham well. He’s in the next room across the hall.” My boss said to me in a singly manner; I felt he could read me as well as I can him.
This next meeting was fate. I would forever remember his face; for it was that of a snake hiding a mouse in his mouth. “So when did they start bringing in hot ladies to make gentlemen like me talk?”
I smiled in a half sarcastic manner as slammed down a book filled with possible evidence of him being the real cold blooded sick freak. His face made me want to completely smash it in with the back end of the book. “So where were you on the night of February 21, 2077?”
He smiled his serpent smile. “What would you look like in the dress I am imagining…I wonder-”
She interrupted. “Trying to steer the conversation off course will do you no good, Jake. I suggest you start taking this seriously.” I was near hitting him.
“I suggest you wear this red dress I’m imagining. You would look quite pretty in-”
I took my hand and thrown every bit of energy I had into his face. It left quite the contact and sent him flying towards the wall. “Still think I look pretty in that dress?”
Jake smiled but it wasn’t the same as before. He was ready to finally talk. “I had a machine gun and I decided to earn one hundred twenty thousand points by killing the first twelve people that came out of that school. Good enough for you?” Jake continued to smile and it shifted into his snake smile. His face shown that he hasn’t believed a word he had just said but he was still guilty for what happened.
“Really?” I laughed to play along with him. “If that is true then that wasn’t at all the gun that was used at the scene of the crime.” I grabbed a photo of a kid. “The kid says he has seen you speaking to a man. Who is he?”
His snake smile quickly turned to disgust and looked away. “He’s a little brat nobody that should go to juvenile hall. He didn’t see me with any man. The principle of the school can testify to that.”
I had cornered him. He knew the kid and the kid knew the man he had seen with him. “What would the principle testify to? That he is a brat or that he didn’t see you with anyone because you were speaking with him? You were his weapons dealer. You were paid by a desperate man who killed 12 young students and tried to pin it on another man who already lost so much. You are nothing but a snake!”
He looked with all the contempt he could have possibly shown. “I’m sure some of my fellas would love to see you in that dress.” He got up and walked away with his snake smile.
I knew he was up to something terrible already. But of all the days it had to have been tomorrow.
I woke up feeling excited for the day. Before I went to sleep the other day I got a phone call to meet with my boyfriend, David. I wasn’t thinking in the slightest with what could be really happening. Then again, no one just expects things like this to just happen. I drove to the park where huge bushes were being trimmed somewhat like a maze. I looked around a corner and spotted him in a tux. My heart fluttered as I walked towards him. He was so happy to see me.
As I was walking close to him, he bent over on one knee. He was about to say the words I had expected but instead his eyes shown instant fear. That was all I could remember. I did remember a familiar snake’s laughter as Jake said, “She’s the one who can read people.” Of course it gets weirder. I can guarantee that.

Sounds like a great story to me. You seem to have some pretty good writing so far, and I look forward to future development. (I'm already wondering how Sara got from her "normal" life to being a Kingrayon...) Besides, I like your stories and their characters in general (I quite enjoyed the first ~6 chapters of the main novel), so I certainly won't lack interest in a side story. Good luck!

Just an update I thought many people should see. Since I don't like doubling posting, I deleted the previous post I made. Here's the post.
Originally posted by Deleted PostSo I've been quite busy but lately I've came up with several things I've been doing. Namely I've been attempting to draw Scrydan, one of the main characters of the story. I've been feeling pretty good about being able to draw without bogging myself because it isn't perfect but soon I should show the fruits of my first real drawing of one of my story characters. I also plan to draw Sara too, with her in Kingrayon form and human form.
Now then, speaking of Scrydan, I've recently decided to register at DA. So I'll try to do some stuff with that account and whatnot. Probably didn't expect me to register with something other than Superderek, eh? Well, I am thinking about renaming all accounts I have or most of them. Sure it may be confusing but I am thinking about being renamed to Scrydan but I am not sure I want to use a rename.
More news later. Until then, here's more from Chapter 3:
QuoteSara was very excited to move outside and just run. She would have ran and ran for a long time and never to look back at where she was. However, there were still unfinished business and she would see to it that those responsible for what happened paid dearly. “This is a good start! So could you please explain to me what the Albu de Folraise is and how you came to be?”
Scrydan smiled towards her. “My coming to be as I am is a long tale. For it happened long ago and yet not that long in your time. An interesting experiment was done on what was once Scryer Islands. It is now known as the Shattered Void Islands. This experiment speed up time on Desteria compared to Earth. I am not sure how exactly it speed up time but it was probably for each year on earth being 3 years on Desteria. To the people who lived in Desteria, nothing was different. However as soon as you went back to Earth, it seemed like only a year went by while perhaps a few years passed here on Desteria.
“It was used to quickly start civilizations all across the world. New creatures once human began a new life cycle. I was born from one the original aspects of the dragons created. Time went by and before we knew it, many many years went by. I am around 24 years old but perhaps only 10 of those years went by. It would be 8 if my guess is correct but two years ago the experiment went wrong and time went back to normal. It was when the land itself started to refuse being manipulated any longer. The world was infused with such strange power for so long that it had strange effects all around the world.
"However, some of that energy collected at a central point and created the result of the Shattered Void Islands. The whole area is cursed beyond any hope. This gave birth to the discovery of Green Golagoo. This corruption has the power to manipulate mater and information. The later part goes more into things like the human mind and data on a computer. With such power, one can control anyone who isn't strong enough to resist."
When she heard that, she wondered if she had been tested with any such thing.
Scrydan continued. "It gets worse. It sometimes goes beyond controlling what it touches but using it as a shell or host while it makes the creature an abomination with its mutating powers to turn it into whatever it pleases. This is only known to happen in one place; the Cursed Corruption. The location is unknown because it one day disappeared. So some of the towns people say it is just a myth but I believe it may yet hold some truth. However there are lesser cursed corruption areas which aren't nearly as lethal but still hold great danger."
Time went by as they talked about the world around them. They were starting to see the town of Sundurfal over the horizon. Sara looked over at some of the people working the fields near them. "Wow, is that really Sundurfal? It looks like a busy place."
Scrydan nodded at her but had a concerning look on his face. "It is both a very productive and busy town. Alas it is also the home of some corruption. Chester, whom you may have heard of from Dauru, sent over someone who has been somehow able to convince the Town Mayor to increase taxes to aid Chester's projects. Some of the town's people had to band together just to survive. I sense something sinister about this man who has been sent over. He is responsible for a lot of suffering."
Sara knew some suffering. She remembered all those moments where she helped put away a very bad person who lived only to harm. The family of the victims always thanked her and it helped her go on with her life. If she could only just rid the world of the source of it all.
Chapter Three completed!
What's more, I am still drawing Scrydan and am having better luck at it now. I will give an update soon. Now for something many people are wondering.
I have changed my name to Scrydan because I believe the 'chapter' of Superderek is over. I've come to realize many things and as a character I have advanced a lot in the past month. 'Superderek' is now merely a relic of what was the past. Superderek wouldn't attempt to draw because he overthinks things. Superderek wouldn't sit down and actually get lots of writing down EVEN though he wants to.
As Scrydan, my mind is open to many possibilities and opening eyes to things people may not notice. I hope to entertain and to send you all to an exciting world to explore.
As such, this is why I am Scrydan now. Refer to me as Scrydan and not Superderek. You can also call me Derek but only if we talk enough. Thank you for reading.
