... Well, I'm afraid. They can say you are a terrorist and kill you/lock you up for it... even if you're a child?

The war on terrorism can't be won anyway. We all know the New Earth Order Nexus will take all.

They can lock you up indefinitely for being suspected of terrorism. Is that not terrorism in itself?

Seems like a terroristic method of governing to me. It instills terror in civilians and does away with 'innocent until proven guilty.'

It's more of a tyrannical method of government. A terroristic method of government would be more like the secret police/public execution type stuff.

How should we deal with potential terrorists, then?

I don't know, but this sounds like the Holocaust all over again. Have we learned nothing?

Didn't think Obama would actually sign that. Must be some sort of peer pressure.
Oh, and opposing the law is terrorism apparently.

It certainly doesn't come from eliminating due process. What if you have arrested someone who truly is innocent? Once you have convicted the innocent you have just liberated the guilty meaning the real terrorist will still be out there able to strike, surely this makes America less safe from the true terrorists.
If you believe in the power of the individual as I do then it doesn't require rewriting the constitution to give the U.S. Government unnecessary powers. Take a similar issue unwarranted wire tapping, you don't need to tap the phones of everyone in the country to stop a potential terrorist all it takes is something as simple as say a mailman passing along to the authorities that say 7 guys named Mohammad are building something. See simple, doesn't require giving any additional powers to the government.

Let's not relativise the Holocaust it's not quite risen to the level of the Holocaust. I mean take a country that is an actual police state Russia as it currently stands under Vladimir Putin as awful as that is it's still not quite 6 million people dead is it? So same deal with this NDAA bill this is a horrible idea and it should be opposed but it's still not quite risen to the level of the Holocaust.

I did. Obama strikes me as a very weak person who refuses to stand up for his principles and convictions.

Who said anything about racism?
Also if there was proof that these seven conveniently named ( ) guys were building a bomb with malicious intent, then even due process wouldn't stop whatever punishment would be handed out to them, just make it take a bit longer. This doesn't really affect them.
Who is does affect is, well, everybody else. The government can now literally say "we believe this guy could be a terrorist" and arrest you solely based on that. Would you like that to happen to you?

Sorry for the bump, but this is important:

Congress will be voting on amendments to ban indefinite detention later THIS WEEK.
Detain your friends app and let them know what's going on. The catch is, it requires a Facebook account, but you might know someone who does have one.
