It'd be a shame if you cancelled this hack, it's looking pretty good! Honestly though, I don't think you should cancel it simply because you're running out of ideas. Just take a break, relax and an idea will probably come to you when you least expect it. Heck, I sometimes take several weeks just to finish a single level!

That's pretty sad that you're going to cancel it. Well, not everyone has motivation.

Set the hack aside for a few days and play some other video games or just do some fun real-life stuff. Whenever you lose inspiration, the worst thing you can do is keep throwing yourself at your hack -- you'll only burn yourself out.

Going on a hiatus is fine. Look at Cookie Crisis. It's a hugely anticipated hack and has been in the works for about 2 or 3 years now. Or you could adopt my method of keeping motivation. Do the levels in any order you want. That way you can always make a new type of level.

It's on hiatus until I can figure out what to do about Quicksand Chaos. In the meantime, I think I'll play some other hacks. Maybe I'll get some inspiration from that. I just figured I'd post that to get it off my chest and let you guys know that this hasn't been an easy hack to make. My last one wasn't easy either.

Well, the motivation to work on this returned after a 3 or 4 day break from even opening Lunar Magic. I got Quicksand Chaos pretty much worked out and got a burst of inspiration for the level afterward.
VIDEO - Quicksand Chaos
The little bugs Mario can ride on were suggested by TLMB after I showed an earlier version of the level. Riding them leads to goodies like extra coins and a bonus room.
Poltergeist Pyramid
Baby, when the lights
Go out...
Ahem, when the lights go out, the blue Boos chase you. The torches are a bit glitchy and can act as if they've been lit without a fireball even touching them. They also mess up the level-to-sublevel transition, causing the sublevel to get stuck in the middle of the mosaic fade-in. This caused enough frustration to almost make me cancel and yell at wiiqwertyuiop for making such a glitchy sprite.

Those bugs are indeed tweaked, reskinned Para-Beetles, and they'll be making a comeback in a later level where you'll HAVE to ride them to cross some gaps. For now, I have a couple screencaps and another video to show.

A Message Block explains that those flowering cacti are a form of Pokey and need to be avoided.

These Green Pokeys are minor edits to imamelia's Pokey Disassembly. They move faster than their yellow cousins. Isn't that what ProtonJon always wanted anyway?
VIDEO - Pokey Oasis
Yeah, I die at the end of this one, but I didn't want to re-record it. The bouncing green Pokey heads were inspired by the Needlenoses from Yoshi's Island. They're reskins of Andy_k_250's Pogo Thwimp sprite, which is a tweak of the Bouncing Football.

Heh nice. That's clearly a homage to me.
I actually had the same idea for faster Pokeys in my hack. This level gives a nice idea of how I can use them now (on a side note, I call my faster Pokeys 'Proton Pokeys').
On a side note, if you use ZSNES's record function, you can use savestates in the recording and playback won't show them. Just record the playback with savestates. That's what I do.

is finally done, meaning it's time for an (unofficial) demo release. The reason I say "unofficial" is because the torch flames are buggy and I've had little success in getting help debugging them.

Another Proton Pokey

If you've beaten the Green World, you can get some extra coins from the blocks here.

You have to ride the Scarabs to get across gaps in this level.

If you're powered-up, you can grab some extra coins by breaking the brick blocks.

King Robomesu's Palace is full of Bowser Bowling Balls.

Disco Shells are also pretty common, at least in the first room.
Mecha-Bowser's Revenge Demo
Like I said earlier, the torch flames are a bit too glitchy for me to consider an actual submission, and no one has come forward to help me debug them.

I'm pretty much loving this.
But the Goomba Boss is way to easy.
Are these suit canon-pigs on smwcentral? ^^

@MrDeppelman: Sonikku might have them in his Dropbox. I suppose you could PM him if you want them. I think he should submit them here though.

Well, my torch flame sprites have been debugged thanks to wiiqwertyuiop, meaning that I can now present you all with an OFFICIAL demo release.
Get it here.

Looks like it could be a barrel of fun. I tend not to play demos (par that time I was a tester for you) so I can't really give feedback. I'mma wait here till full release :>
