Drewseph is indeed the author, however, he is not the only one. A full list can be found here .
Slightly offtopic:
That link was from his youtube page, HIGHLY recommend looking at that page if you like puzzles. His youtube account has some really awesome twisty puzzles. Some of my favorites.

Sure, that sounds like a good idea. I'd probably include the Yoshi Island hacks you mentioned in your reply then add a link to the Yoshi's Island hacks thread afterwards.

I was seriously considering including that game, though I didn't want to put any bias towards SM64 hacks (which is also the reason why I didn't also include Return to Retroland or my Monochrome Mario 64 hack). I'll add it as soon as I add the Yoshi's Island hacks.
Originally posted by Zeldara109And where did that author list for Super Metroid Redesign come from? Everywhere else I've heard, the author is Drewseph. (I think that list could use more Super Metroid hacks as well, since I've seen a significant number of them out there-- Super Metroid Eris and Metroid Super Zero Mission seem to be considered fairly notable as far as I can tell, though I haven't really been following Super Metroid hacking very much.)
Thanks, it seems that I missed a few names on the credit list. I kinda like to credit all the people involved for Super Metroid Redesign, consider all the extra programming they did
Originally posted by Zeldara109Also, how about organizing the hacks by original game, not just by system? And including the release date or at least the year (if known)?
The reason I organised them by system instead of the games themselves is because that's the way it was handled in the old notable ROM hacks thread. I'm taking your words into account, so expect to see a overhaul of this thread in the coming days (I'd also like to add a few translations if we are to list each hack under the games).

Hey... I saw the hacks Parallel Worlds and Mario Kart R, and tried to apply them to their roms I found lying around on the internet's floor. But... After they're applied, I get a Failed Checksum, Bad Rom kind of error (even though the roms they're based on work in the emulator... except Super Mario Kart. For some reason, I can't choose 1P or 2P). Am I using bad/dirty roms? The wrong version of Lips? Should I keep looking? How do I tell if the rom is going to be bad before I apply it?
Also, I'm tired, and it's the time of night right now where the internet is throwing 'Connection Interrupted' errors at me...

Hey guys. I'm really touched that my dinosaur-old SMB3 hack still gets such kind words and praise said about it. It feels like the warm glow of a father making a toy by hand for his kid, and then that kid plays with it for years and years so much it gets all withered and faded and hardly usable, and then is shocked to see 30 years later that his fully-grown-up kid still kept all this time and it's got its own special place on his shelf next to his bed.
I get depressed sometimes because of my mood swings in RL and wonder if all the time I spend on various forums and whatever even means anything. Then I see things like this, and it affirms me that I have indeed made a small difference in some people's lives here and there, when they go to play a game and they get the game I made and they really enjoy it.
Ahhh. :') Thank you so much everyone.
Hehe, and sorry if I startled anyone posting this drama-post out of the blue like that, even if it's in a good way this time!
I'm always watching you, guys. And it's because I love you. Everyone.
P.S: Oh my God. I've been playing SMBCC just for old times' sake and I can't even beat it anymore. XDD I keep finding moments that leave me waving my hands at the screen with a wtf expression and going "...What!! WHY! Why would I DO THAT!!" XDDD It's hilarrrrrrious.

Just note that Kamek's Revenge and NEW! Yoshi's Island are still incomplete-- not sure whether this list should include any unfinished hacks. (Kamek's Revenge v1.96 is still missing one level and has various other things that still need fixing whenever I get around to it, and NEW! Yoshi's Island v0.95 is basically a beta release, with two levels missing and a variety of minor things that have been fixed since then (Yoshis Fan hasn't released a new version though). Both of them are at least as good as SMW2+2 though-- better in my opinion, since SMW2+2 is easier than the original YI.)
Also, I think this list could use some Megaman/Rockman hacks. At the very least, I know Rockman no Constancy is notable, though there may be others that deserve to be included here.

sunwarrior25 - Hmmm, they seem to be working fine for me. The only thing I can think of that would help you is looking for a new clean ROM of the internet if your getting Checksum errors.

Yeah, I'm actively trying to avoid listing unfinished hacks (well unless I'm sure hell is going to freeze over before the full hack will see the light of day), what I'm planing on doing though is adding Forlorn Lands onto the main list and linking the Yoshi's Island hack thread for the rest of the hacks.

Thanks, I haven't really followed all the Megaman hacks so if you have any other suggestions, just say and I'll toss them up on the first post.

I'm going to suggest a few notable ones:Mega man Ultra ,Rockman Deus ex machina and Grayzone
There are others good ones, like Rockman Peercast but isn't notable as the others but I personally find it Great and Pretty difficult, Include it to the list if you wish...

I wouldn't consider Forlorn Lands notable at all, though-- it was canceled halfway through the sixth level. (Or anything that's as short as that hack is, unless it's the only hack of that particular game, meaning it would demonstrate that the game can be hacked in the first place, which Forlorn Lands does not.)

Thank you, I'm just updating the first post with them now. I think I'll also add Peercast and just say you recommended it, if that's aright with you.
Ninja'ed: Zeldara109 - What other hack would you recommend me also adding to the YI section then?

eehh... Okay but the problem is that Rockman Peercast is considered a 'rare hack', It cannot be downloaded anywhere.
(wait this is related to the topic?)
But if you really want to add to the list, I recommend you to play the game before anything, Then you decide.

Edit:I forgot, PM me if you want the ips

For Pokemon, Might I suggest Pokemon Blaze Black and Volt White? It's this really neat 649 hack which also includes re-vamps to almost everthing else, excluding text and maps of course.
You can find a thread on GBATemp with the download and more info.

Thanks, I'd just played quite a bit of it now. I'll be adding it as soon as I get to a proper computer.

The FileSonic link for New Super Mario Bros. 3 is down. Is there an alternate link?

Opps sorry about that, didn't realised Filesonic went down. Here's an alternative, I'm updating the first post now.
Anyone got any suggestions for a file sharing website? I'm thinking about mirroring all the current hacks featured on the list so I can avoid future problems like this.

Mediafire seems like a good one.

Usually whenever I upload something I use dropbox with a mediafire back-up. Only problem with dropbox is limited space, but do you honestly think you'll ever upload more than 2 gigabytes of romhacks?

I'll probably go with Dropbox then, as quite alot of links are already from mediafire.
I'll get all the mirrors sorted out as soon as I get some free time
EDIT: Done.

You should consider adding Sonic Megamix to the list. An enjoyable Sonic Hack, and your list doesn't have any Sonic Hacks.

Yeah, I was actually thinking about adding a few Sonic hacks to the list. Though I'm not really familiar with the Megamix series myself though. Sonic 1 Megamix I believe is being ported to the Sega CD so I'm not sure if the Sega Genesis released version is a full release (I don't really want to put work in progress or demo hacks in the list).
Would still suggest Megamix? Also do you know any other Sonic hacks I could also add to my list?

Sonic Megamix isn't still being worked on. At least I don't think it is. 3.0 is the latest stable release, and 4.0b is the latest unstable release. You could add that to the description.
