Hey everyone, the Music Section Staff is happy to announce that the Re-moderation Project was finished successfully! We went through every single port on SMWC and compressed the information so it's much easier to navigate.
There's a new tag system now, so you can isolate music by their theme. We also fixed issues with all of the ports that made it into the new Music Section, so now all of the hosted songs should be compatible with AddMusic405 or AddMusicM.
But Crispy, what happened to the rest of the songs that used to be on the site?
^We put all of those "legacy ports" in one giant .zip, and you can get them all here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28007574/SPC/Mod/Legacy.zip
Hadron's removals: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9203142/legacy.zip
Well, I think that's all there is to say. I hope you all like the new music section, and Happy New Year!

I'd also like to add that if you're the owner of one of those ports that unfortunately didn't make it on the music list, don't feel discouraged, now is your chance to spruce it up a bit to the new standards, echo fix, quality, etc...just download from the zip, fix and reupload.

Awesome. Though I wouldn't wish I could have a bunch of people take 5 months to reorganize my room anytime soon.....
No, the music section is so neat and tidy. Now I can pick with ease.

Finally, we can download legacy ports! I find it surprising that some haven't passed (biggest surprise for me was "Mega Man X6 - Infinity Mijinion" - it worked perfectly fine with bsnes for me and it sounds nice - what was wrong with this track?)...
I can understand why some were removed - some were bad, I agree. I guess that those sampled ports which were sounding nice were removed because they didn't work on bsnes (I'm too lazy to use SampleTool to check this).
Also, those "Approve"/"Delete" links (on image) look really hacky - I guess that Kieran was too lazy to make <td>s for those as only staff members would see those.
Whatever, now "Custom Music" section looks better . But I miss those long descriptions...

Cool! Nice to see it's finally finished, even though I took a break from the work lately, I think I had a pretty big part in it earlier. It was a great way to bump my submission number a bit (605 submissions now )

Thank you guys for spending so much time working on the remoderation project! It's great that none of the music have technical issues that can cause the music to crash in the actual game. Also, I find the tag system to be useful, because it makes me (and possibly others) easy to search for the songs we want to use in our hacks.
Once again, thanks for the outstanding job, Slash Man, Crispy Yoshi, Hadron and Camerin!

I hate to be a killjoy but I'd like to give everybody a reminder to check the music regardless... Something I pointed out to Slash a few days ago, a certain song I was using had not been fixed properly (and subsiquently crashed on snes9x) but had still been approved and remoderated. Although most songs should be fine now, you may want to double check ports when you download them, just in case...
If you experience any problems with music on more accurate emulators and are not experienced in music hacking, feel free to swing by IRC channel #imamusic where people will be happy to look over the song in question for you and perform any necessary fixes.
Other than that, happy new year and happy hacking!

Oh my god now that is amazing. Congratulations~~
Perfect time to redownload all the songs I already have, now that fixing them is unnecessary.

We'll cross that bridge when we get there and fix them as people point them out to us. I'm certain that there are a select few that we might have either overlooked and/or just forgot to edit though.

Thanks to whoeveer was involved in the project. The music section is already looking much more clean than it was before, and I certainly hope that until we get a search bar and pages, it can stay that way.

Erm, I don't know if I should post this here, but "Paper Mario - An Invitation To The Castle" is in the music section twice. Once by Hadron and once by CrispyYoshi.

Feel free to point out anything like that here.
Took down the smaller one with less tags, so there should only be one now.

For a while I was wondering why some songs that worked in Romi's Addmusic wouldn't in 4.05. But then I found out that the old songs had commands that were incompatable with 4.05.
Still, amazing work getting all those songs straightened out. I'm pretty sure you guys are going to need at least a week's vacation right now.

Oooh good job.
EDIT: I'd prefer a better organizational system rather than adding "tags" to the description, though. Like, having an actual column for this stuff so it's easier to search. Not a huge deal though so I understand why kieran wouldn't want to do it.
Same goes for "custom" vs "port." Instead of appending CUSTOM - to it, another column with custom or port would be nice.

Is it just me or has every song that requires the N-SPC Patch been rejected? Also, what is ADSR or whatever it's called?
