Me? I've referred quite a few. I've told them how great SMW hacking is, how we do it, and the basics. On this Tuesday, after school, my High School has a video game club called "The Gamer's Guild" where we talk about our favorite video games and consoles. What I'm going to share is SMW hacking and my most favorite hack of all time (which is SMW: The Secret of The 7 Golden Statues). What about you guys? Ever told a friend or a family member about this or you only keep it to yourselves?

I have a few friends that know that I do hack, and my sister is even proud of me for what she considers my capacity for good level design. However, I never did get anyone else into it. There was only one person I ever knew in my life who even knew about it outside of my own hacking hobby, and he always made ugly kaizo levels.

Moved to talk, I'm sure this thread fits better here.
I told my brother about this place several times, but he's not interested in SMW hacking. I also told a friend of mine about Lunar Magic, and he did download it, but I think he never used it.

I got my Brother into SMW hacking, I even taught him how to insert ExGFX, Sprites & Blocks...
Although he hasnt been around lately to continue his hack, so he deleted it
Not to mention I also got my Cousins to make Vanilla hacks, but then there Mom got worried it had a virus..how Noobish of her lol
So I guess I'm the only one that knows

I've tried to spread the message, but I've never really gotten anybody to stay interested(sometimes they might take a look at LM, but that's about it)

I think I made the most successful SMW hacking referrals of all time when I introduced Kieran to Acmlm's Board, and by extension, the SMW hacking community. If I hadn't, SMWC wouldn't have existed today.

I told some of my friends that I'm able to hack Mario and my cousin & brother. I mainly told the people who've played SMW or just know about SMW Hacks. (Well the main one they know about is Brutal Mario)
As for referring a friend or trying to get them to hack? No...haven't done that.

A few friends know that I can hack SMW (none of them are interested in SMW hacking now). I even tell my mom what I do with my levels and show them to her, this include kaizo levels in general. My sister did see me hacking, but this hasn't got her to SMW hacking. I'm the only people of the family to hack SMW.

My family knows I hack as well as some of my friends, i've tried to get a few of my friends into it, as well as my brother, but I guess they are not interested. Its not a huge deal, but I'd like to work on a hack with someone IRL, making levels side by side and talking about it all the time.
Damn I'm lame.

People know, but they don't really care. I've showed a couple of friends my levels, as well as SMWCP, but aside from a "that's pretty cool", it doesn't interest them much.

Either they don't have time, or they want to play Halo over and over just to own themselves.

I honestly choose not to get anyone I know in real life to try SMW Hacking, just because I feel it wouldn't interest them. Granted, you wouldn't know until you tried, but they don't seem to care about it.
The only people I would want to try playing SMW Hacks are popular Let's Players.
