First, there's some green on white (two Slogger logs). I'm not sure if I like that.
Second, it says that batch files look like one of these two:
xkas <patchname>.asm <ROMname>.smc
xkas <Patch1>.asm <ROM1>.smc
xkas <Patch2>.asm <ROM1>.smc
xkas <Patch1>.asm <ROM2>.smc
xkas <Patch3>.asm <ROM3>.smc
I'm not sure if I like the cls in the first one, but it does no harm for most of our users.
However, the second is missing a pause
instruction. This makes insertion errors not show up.
(I'm not sure why anyone would want three ROMs like that either, but whatever.)
LDA $7E0019 ; instead of LDA $19
False. Direct page access works fine outside of 10-3F. (However, STZ $0F34 from there is indeed a bad idea.)
- Banks $708000 - $7D8000 Ė These are marked as (!) in Slogger file. It means, donít use these for applying patches, unless if you want to crash your ROM! These banks are related to RAM Area, not ROM. But you can still insert music sample .BNK banks in there. Just use these to insert samples and let normal banks free for patches (thanks to undefinied3 for pointing me about this).
Yes, $708000 is a bad idea.
But pointing it to $F08000-$FD8000 (or even $FF8000) will work perfectly.
Fifth, Advanced Section 2 tells the user to compare base 10 numbers to base 16 numbers. Luckily, this error means always going for a too large freespace, so this is harmless. It also simplifies stuff, so I'd say that's acceptable.
