So, if Kim Dotcom is convicted, does he serve all the sentences from the crimes he committed, serves life in prison, or receives the death penalty? I'm not good with criminal justice.

Disproportionate retribution, much? That's longer than some animal abuse charges, I think. Animal abuse>piracy

His sentence was FAR FAR too large considering the precendent, but I guess labels have lobbied enough to get him destroyed.
There was a case in Britan where a factory owner knowingly put poisonous asbestos in his factory because it was cheaper. He is held responsible for 20 different lives.
15 years.
Apparently, downloading music is a bigger crime than indirect murder.

Questions:
Does the Touhou fandom ever use any other sites besides Megaupload?
If I made a game that cast the FBI as the villains, would I be breaking the law?

Right, it's ok if we have a corrupt government that is unduly influenced by corporations because we can still download roms.

This is a good thing.
Companies such as video game producers want more than only gamers to have fun, they want money for the hard work they've put into it. Uploading torrents onto the Internet completely defeats that purpose.
I'm not sure about what exactly SOPA/PIPA/ACTA would do to "censor the internet", but online piracy should be stopped.

I believe Notch, the maker of MineCraft has once said something along the lines of:
"If one person pirates a game, he/she will tell his/her friends about the game if he/she likes it. If his/her friends listen and aren't pirates, they may buy the game, and enjoy it. So, while I lose one potential purchase, I gain several more in return."
Or something like that.
Remember, not everyone pirates or even knows how to pirate games. And some people who pirate do it to try out the game, and if they like it, they buy it.
