I bought a jigsaw puzzle the other day (1500 pieces) for the first time in at least 10 years. I forgot how amusing they are, not to mention that you can glue + hang the good ones up when you're done with them.
Has anyone ever does these before, or does anyone do them on a regular basis?

I don't do them on a regular basis, but its a nice activity you can do with a bunch of friends (or just one) and talk about anything while you do it.
Its something I would probably do more often if I wasn't so lazy.

I think they'd be enjoyed a lot more by me if I had someone to do them with. I don't particularly enjoy them, but as pointed out, they are nice to do with friends.

I still meet with friends to do a jigsaw puzzle. It helps to concentrate, and, not to forget, is very fun. It also is being a good way using free time when you don't have anything do to.

When I was a kid I loved jigsaw puzzles. On my 6th birthday my dad bought me a huge floor puzzle of the 50 US states, it's one reason I got into maps and geography so much. Today I can't find the patience to ever do another one, they kind of irritate me and it's something I'd need to do in solitude which I don't like being in. :\

I don't really do jigsaw puzzles often anymore, but when I was younger (probably already like eight years ago, now that I think about it) I used to do quite many, although most of them didn't have more than 100 pieces. I later also did some bigger ones with up to 2000 pieces together with my family.
I still think doing a jigsaw puzzle is a fun activity, especially together with other people, but I don't really feel as motivated to do one as I did when I was younger, so I almost never get around actually starting one.

I used to do puzzles years ago, it was one of our favorite pastimes with my brother on boring evenings or rainy afternoons. I remember there was a 300-piece one (showing an old train) which we rebuilt quite often, a 500-piece one showing a painting and several 1000 and 1500-piece puzzles which showed buildings or landscapes. I also remember one of the 1500-piece one took months to finish (finding all the sky tiles was really hard). We even glued one of them together and put it up on the wall. This thread is actually a good reminder to take out one of them and build again. :)

within my school, the offer this online class courses; in this room, they have a table set up which normally has a 1000 or so puzzle set. It's pretty much just left there for anyone who wants to do it, since Teachers pass though all the time and the students on the online class get bored, these get solved pretty quickly. It's really fun.
I also used to be really good at puzzles, one reason i was considered smart was from non-verbal problem solving (i think it's the only reason tbh). I can't make time to do these giant puzzles though, i've been messing with rubik's cubes and these metal puzzles recently though.

Sure jigsaws are fun. I've done several in my time (most notable one having somewhere (here it comes) over 9000 pieces). I haven't picked on up in about 5 or 6 years. Unfortunately I always seem to be that one person who has a piece missing at the end.

They are fun, but at one point we had a 10,000 piece puzzle and I got so frustrated on it that I haven't done a Jigsaw puzzle in years.

I used to play jigsaw puzzles when I was little. The pieces comes from 500-1000(mainly 3 puzzles). And building it is fun because it takes me 1 month to build because I'm lazy.

I enjoy them quite a bit. If I get frustrated with some things, they can be a great way to cool off a bit.

I haven't done a jigsaw puzzle in the longest time--10 or 11 years or so--but now I suddenly want to do one. I still have some really old ones from when I was like, five years old, that we glued together and are still in my room. I'm actually kind of surprised some of them are still intact considering how rough I've been when moving them around when cleaning my room over the years. No idea what the piece count on them was, but it was nothing overly spectacular from what I remember.
The last puzzle I remember ever working on was one of those stupid 3D ones with the blocky foam pieces. I hated those because of how easy it was to get pieces in the wrong order, even though it seemed like it fit fine. Not to mention there was a piece missing at the end of that particular one =).

Yeah. There are a lot of things that can help you cool down, but I can never remember them when I need to...

I remember I did a couple when I was somewhere around 5-9 years old. I haven't actually done one in a long time, however. The closest to that would have to be the "Science Jigsaws" my previous science teacher assigned to the class. We were each handed out a paper or two with a varied number of square 'pieces' printed on it/them. Each 'piece' had 2-4 words, terms, or roots on it, each one on a different side of the square. We had to configure them in a formation ensuring that each word/term/root had to be related to the one it was touching on the piece beside it, and then glue the pieces down. There was also a variant with triangular pieces instead of square, called a "Fusaw." Both variations were really fun for me, though I didn't really care for the gluing phase, as I never was too good with glue. (If anyone thinks I did a terrible job at describing this just let me know and I could draw up a quick example)
Back on the topic of actual jigsaw puzzles; my parents have quite an interest for them. It seems there is never a time without the presence of an in-progress jigsaw on our dining room table. Sometimes I will find a couple of pieces and add them to the puzzle, but I never stay on it for long enough to be considered actively working on it. I am contemplating starting one on my own in the near future, however.

I never put them together with glue, however, I do have a really cool killer whale one, where you have an easy puzzle circle in the middle, and then you put a hard puzzle around it.

I've never really done a lot of jigsaw puzzles, but I used to do some when I was younger. They're a good way to pass the time.

Personally, I really don't see the point in them. It's a tedious task and a very boring way to waste precious hours of this short, short life. That being said, I did assemble a 500-piece puzzle once, anything more than that is nothing short of ridiculous.

Its not much different then any of the other crap that people do to waste time.
It also gives most people a sense of accomplishment once they complete the puzzle.

I've done a few jigsaw puzzles when I was little, but they seem to have slipped out of my attention as time passed. The only recent jigsaw puzzle I've done is those Bottle challenge puzzles from B-K, lol.
