Latest: FUNKY kong ending
Tip: Bad things to do in the title demo: Enter a door or a pipe, activate a P-switch or a star, complete the level, hit a message block, or die. These will either glitch the music, or force the player into an endlessly looping title level until they reset the game.

Is officially official. Who else here is excited?
I was.

Half a year ago.
I hope it has online play and FEWER of the luck based minigames. Those made me hate MP8.

Yeah, I love all the others, but 8 had a bit of a problem. I don't know what it is, but the only thing I really liked there was playing as Blooper o_O

Anyway, I'm very excited about Mario Party 9.
I haven't played a mario party since 2.

Have they improved it or is it still same old, same old?
If there's no online play, I'm skipping it.

I mean really, any game that's made nowadays that relies on your playing with your friends in order to have any fun NEEDS online play.

I kinda feel like your missing the point of Mario Party.
It wont have online play. It's not on the official boxart.
See here.

Unless it actually does.

Yeah, online is pretty much needed, it feels pretty boring to play single player. But multiplayer is a blast when your friends are willing to play.
Looking at the box art its weird to see Luigi all the way in the back in the tower. Poor Luigi...

But yeah this Mario Party looks really promising. I've only player 4,5 and 8. Gotta say 4 is my fave still.
im surprised to see this series is still going. imo it stopped being good at mp5 and went only downhill from there. the levels became overly gimmicky and minigames were sub-par at best. i miss the good old "race to the star and hope you have enough cash to buy one" playstyle, now every level has its own ways of collecting them. B(
Last good MP game was MP3. So no, not excited.
Not very excited. My favorite was 3, great memories with my cousins and that game. And I think Mario Party 9 should NOT have online because Mario Party has always been about playing with others and if you're not with other people there is no laughing or actual interaction with each other.
I actually kinda liked #1, but by that time I hadn't gotten sick of the concept yet.

I have a similar relationship with pokemon. Yeah, good games, but I beat it already. The exact same concept with a face lift is not enough to make me want to play the same game again.
Nintendo could have waited and then released Mario Party 9 for the Wii U.
I haven't played a Mario Party game since... one of the N64 ones. I don't have a Wii so I won't be playing this one either, unless a friend has it.

These games are great way to lose friends.

See, this is why Nintendo is very wary about online play. If this game was to have online play the game would evolve into a G-rated COD fest where people bitch with their mics how unfair they were killed and the real life social factor between people is segmented. When the game comes out, I'll be playing with my sister, Mue and our cousin, all fans of the game, and we'll have a lot more fun playing it than if we were all at each other's houses by ourselves.

Find friends with your interests.
Nope, not interested, I saw the Trailer and I see that you ride a car around the Map.

Honestly, I prefer the old-fashion, get to the Star scenario.
Mario Party 1 & 6 are my Favorites.
And I somewhat like Mario Party 7 because of it 8-player option.

Mario Party 8 was the worst, luckily I borrowed its from a friend than buying it.
Oh, yeah, I'm very excited. I've played every Mario Party (except 6 and DS)

Also, don't like so much Mario Party 8... so I hope this version is great :D

(but btw, I have no money for buy it, lol)

Online would be cool, but since an average 15 turn game goes over an hour, it'd be easy for people to drop out in the middle of it. If the CPU replaced them, then it'd be just like playing offline.

I'd like to see online though, especially for playing with friends. It'd also be great to do minigame mode online (i.e. the "first to three" or tic-tac-toe modes). Otherwise, it looks pretty interesting so far, and I like how it's getting a lot more development time.

My biggest frustration with the more recent entries (which a lot of people have noted) is how luck-based they are. Think back to the earlier ones: you could wager all your coins and even stars for duels, and now the amount is chosen at random. The original bonus stars were replaced with a random set of three, meaning the Minigame Star didn't even show up half the time. There are also more chance-themed minigames. Ideally, Mario Party is like Mario Kart: sure there's luck involved, but players who are more skilled have a much better chance at success. Making people feel like they can do more would really help this one.

This is one of many modes. Read up a bit on this sort of stuff before assuming that all you do is ride in a car.
