Treacherous Turret

Although...turbulent isn't really a "scary" connotation like stormy and thunderous. With the level's feel, the name should be something "scary", for the lack of a better word...
I like Thunderous Turret...

@GN: I say, Cloud Caverns is a very boring and generic name. Callous Cliffs shouldn't have been change. But oh well.
Also, it's pretty hard to create and interesting alliteration or rhyme with cloud in it, without sounding like its something from a children's book.
~~~
Now, maybe we should start deciding on Treetop Tussle's rename? I think there are enough suggestions (although suggestions are still welcome).
I might as well contact agie about it.
Regarding Callous/Cloud Cliffs: I agree, not to mention it actually sort of fits the level given the graphics.
I don't think he'd have much of a problem if we changed the name back.
@SNN: I suggested the name "Obscured Obelisk" when Cloud Caverns was part of the redundant name list. It's sounds like a cooler name :L
With the creator's blessing, we should start getting the Tussles over and done with:
Treetop Tussle
Bough Bungalow
Treehouse Town
Canopy Clamber
Treetop Tumult
Treetop Turmoil
Canopy Catastrophe
Tiptop Trials
Treetop Trials
I vote for Treetop Tumult.
More suggestions are welcome.
I have no idea what a tumult is.
I'd like to suggest Treetop Toss-up, it keeps the same meaning and is in pretty plain English
On the other hand, I have no idea what tussle - or toss-up - means, but tumult is probably one of the most early words I learned in English.
Anyway, I'm more for Treetop Toss-up as well, it sounds better and has this nice ring with both words ending in p in addition to the alliteration.
Tussle is a fight and Toss-up is like a tie between two things (like if you can't decide and need to flip a coin or if both teams have the same score).
@Teyla: Tumult is basically the same as Tussle
Toss-up sounds better, but it doesn't make sense. Toss-up is slang for a matter of chance (e.g It was a toss-up, but I made it through the first round) most likely derived from the act of coin tossing.
So "Treetop Toss-up" literally means "Treetop Chance", which IMO doesn't really capture Treetop Tussle's vibe.
...unless it could be pertaining to it'll only be a matter of chance to get through the forest, which in literalness, doesn't make sense, but if the context was made into that, then it would, making "Treetop Toss-up" contextually mean "It'll be a matter of chance to get through the treetops because of how /hard/ this level is"
A toss up doesn't just mean a "tie", it usually suggests that there's gonna be a struggle. "It's a toss-up" usually means, "It's really close, they're gonna have to fight for it" as far as sports goes at least.
And that usually means it's gonna be a bit frantic.
The first thing I think of when hearing the word "toss-up" is a situation whose outcome is highly dependent on chance, i.e. a crapshoot. If we wish to use a word that retains the suggestion of some sort of hubbub and ballyhoo, "tumult" does indeed strike me as a more appropriate choice, as well as being a bit more euphonious (Tree-Top Toss-Up having a slightly awkward effect due to the two words ending in similar, but nevertheless non-identical sound). So "Treetop Tumult" would be my person preference here.
So...:
Treetop Tumult: 2
Treetop Toss-up: 2
Can we have more votes? It'll really be awesome to get this over and done with and move on with another name.
Toss-Up sounds better to me. I like how both Treetop and Toss-Up ends with P, it ... amplifies the rhyme, or something like that.
In accommodation with my level name, I like these two.
The first suggestion really does not float on my boat though, plus I don't see how Hailstone Hellfire would work considering there is no Hail or any kind of firey rain as 'hail' would make, but it does sound cool!
So that's three for Treetop Toss-up, and two for Treetop Tumult. I''l wait a bit for more votes - if there aren't any, then we'll go with toss-up.
@metalgearhunt: Yeah - Hailstone Hellfire sounds cool, but it implies that the level will have something to do with a barrage of hail coming down from the skies, which the level doesn't encompass the level. So are you good with Frigid Fried FrenzY? Mmmkay...
Well, that's another name done.
To be honest, I don't see why "Tussle" should be changed when to me it sounds much better than those two. The word "Tussle" isn't used in the same world and it seems like only a few users have a problem with the level names, so it's not like a big deal. People won't like SMWCP2 less if the level names aren't entirely unique. But if I was to pick between "Toss-up" and "Tumult", I'd go with "Toss-up" for the same reason as Alcaro mentioned. It sounds better than "Tumult", IMO.
There are many, many, words out there to the point were the amount of words in the English language alone can never be counted. All the other levels in the hack use different words - only a few of them are "redundant", so why not make it consistent and expand our vocabulary while we're at it?
During my lurking days, I recall reading tons of suggestion in level threads with "Tussle" in it - there's a lot other words out there than tussle.
If anyone's interested, here's the other suggestions for the name:
Bough Bungalow
Treehouse Town
Canopy Clamber
Treetop Turmoil
Canopy Catastrophe
Tiptop Trials
Treetop Trials
~
Treetop Tumult: 4
Treetop Toss-up: 3
I'll wait till tomorrow afternoon to see if anyone else wants to put their input - it is 1 in the morning here...
So I'm assuming no one else has a problem with "Treetop Toss-up"? Well, okay then. Treetop Tussle is now Treetop Toss-up.
...how exactly did you count that? Four votes for Tumult is more than three votes for Toss-up. Did someone sneak in two invisible votes somewhere?
QuoteDigsite Dangers:
Digsite Dereliction
Enduring Excavation
Cellarden Crypt
Execrable Excavation
Quicksand Quarry
None of those sound very good to me (and Execrable Excavation is more than 19 characters), but Quicksand Quarry feels like the least weird.
But since I don't have any strong feelings in any direction, I want my vote ignored in case of a tie.
QuoteDangling Danger:
Rovi-Claw Clamor
Hanging Hazards
Savage Suspension
Severe Suspension
Hanging Havoc
Dire Dangling
Hapless Hanging
Hanging Hazards is my favourite.
