Hello there. This is the Super Smash Brothers Series Thread (or SSBS Thread). Here you can post any discussion about the series, post/show us some funny pictures you found/made, or post discoveries you find in the ROMs or the games in general. One more thing, if you just got a SSBS game (If you haven't somehow already) and if you got anything in it you want to tell us then, okay then. On that topic here's how the thread looked back when I first made it.

Good for you. He's a pretty useful character. However, let's turn this thread into a "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" thread, or, y'know, a mod's likely gonna trash/close it.

hint: This thread once (somebody that's not a mod) replys to this, I wanted this to turn into a SSBB thread about people unlocking new things. So, if anyone else wants to post about you unlocking something new or any funny pics, go ahead and post. Renaming title.

Honestly Brawl is old enough at this point that very few people will have anything to add to the conversation. Seeing that the last Smash thread was for the newly announced WiiU/3DS one, and its last post was in November, I'll just make this thread a Smash general thread.

The first Mario (SSB) was the best Mario version, and I'm pretty sure he'd be a top tier in brawl if it was possible to insert. He was more nimble and had a higher jumper with faster attacks, then again it could just be the 64 working its limiting magic of interaction stuff. What's your opinion on best versions of characters (to everyone).

I never noticed a difference going from the first game to brawl.
Also, I am going to cry if Mr Game and Watch isn't in the 4th game.

Melee was my favourite game because Dr. Mario. Cape it up, cape it up, pill pill pill - he's legit.
Also, the SMW and SMB2 stages.

SSB 64 was the best smash bros, I think. I just feel it had the best physics; the later games made it way too hard to combo. Brawl gets a lot of bonus points for extra content, but as far as the base game goes, I like the original.
Flying down A -> upward yo yo -> flying kick = awesome. Can't do that in the other two; enemies either go flying or recover faster than you can land your attacks.

As long as Sakurai's working on it, at least one MOTHER character will be there. Dunno if he's making this one too, though.

If it's to conversate anything about the previous Smash Bros Titles; I recommend it would be good here!
But seeing as ^this guy is right^ if its anything you hear or new announcements towards the new smash bros: This is the Thread your looking for.
Sonic's a pretty good character with some interesting moves; but a ridiculous Final Smash...plus not to mention his moves do the Weakest damage in the Game.
My favorite characters are: Luigi, Olimar, Ganandorf, Link & Diddy Kong

Personally, I just got a glitch where I played the subspace emmenarry (or however you spell it) and I saved, but when I quit, I lost all my progress. Anybody know why?

There must be something wrong with your Memory Internal Disc.
But either way...to get Sonic, you need to complete Subspace.
If you unlocked sonic that way...you need to worry much!
But if you wanted Toon Link, Wolf or Jigglypuff...then my option would be to restart.

SSBB was great. Melee was fun, great memories with that game and I don't have much experience with SSB64 considering I never owned it but I played it enough times to remember the characters and stages well. Unfortunate SSBB only lasted about a year for most people until they got tired of it...well that's what I saw at least. I feel like it is making a comeback however, I'm hearing a lot of people are playing it again now-a-days. Probably because the fourth game was announced. I doubt I'll own it though. I stopped playing my Wii more than a year ago, gave it to my older brother who has moved out and then he gave it to one of his friends for free 
Did anyone elses Wi-fi never work for Brawl?

Ehhh, not really. Lucas, probably, but Ness has been around since the beginning, so I don't he's leaving any time soon.

No, Lucas and Ness rock and they're my favorite characters. When you learn how to use them (and control their PK Thunder) they're deadly, especially Ness' PK Flash, if someone has high HP they'll sent flying 1000 mph.

I Agree, my little brother enjoys playing as Ness
While on the other hand; I play as Lucas against or with him

I prefer Melee Ness to Brawl's. His double jump cancel was invaluable, it made it easy to just use your aerial moves straight after jumping, and gave you greater control over your momentum. Brawl's Ness doesn't control nearly as tightly :/
Lucas would be great if his grab wasn't amazingly laggy with very little addition to range compared to other tethers. He doesn't have enough options against people who shield well.
*cares too much about the technical aspects of the characters*

Melee was was my first of the series so it holds most memories and nostalgia. However SSBB was my favourite due to the amount of content and characters added. I loved checking SSBB Dojo to find anything new was being added.

I must be weird since I've only ever played Brawl. Well, I did play Melee, but all I did was play like two matches on that game and that was ages ago.
Since we're kind of on the subject, who are your favorite characters? I always loved playing as Jigglypuff, Lucas and Luigi. But I've never played Brawl "competitively" so I wouldn't know if they're good characters or not. I just always had so much fun playing as them.

Seriously, i want the young link from Majora's mask to make an apperance. I mean, it would fix the cline issues, what with the deku goron and zora forms.
