In case anyone hadn't played my entry yet, I'll give ya some things about it. In the second room, there's a gimmick where sprites can pass through some of the castle blocks and Mario can't, and at the end the blocks will fall if you touch one of them. And in the boss room, I didn't used any ExGFX, you will be given a hint before it (I've never seen anyone using this gimmick before (The one where the P-switch is moved by layer 2 blocks around it), aside from some people using the rope tileset). I didn't think it's that hard, Kaizo difficult there. I've not made any use of Super GFX Bypass.

question.

if we place in the top 5 and get steam money, can we have that money given to an account that's not ours? i don't have a steam account but lots of my friends do, could you give it to one of them if i place in the top 5? just wondering.
I don't see why not.
Curious, can we get people to test the levels and get feedback before we submit?

I know there's little time left, but... Yeah.
Even if it were against the rules to have someone else test your level, it would be very difficult to prove if anyone else was involved. I can only assume it's okay, since they weren't making the level. They simply gave suggestions or ideas, which is hardly any different from looking at other levels for ideas.

I looked through the rules of the contest and this entire forum and there is nothing mentioned by Firephoenix saying that a user of SMWC cannot test and provide feedback on a participant's entry prior to the deadline of the contest. I would like further clarity on the issue, but until this is proven otherwise I am still offering to test and provide private feedback to anyone who requests me via PM to do so.
Obviously, if someone is willing to give feedback, that means he or she does not mind doing so. If someone is so competitive that they don't give feedback, then they don't do it. So whoever is getting feedback is not getting it unfairly, since the person giving them feedback felt it was fair to give them feedback. And whoever felt it was unfair did not give them feedback in the first place, so this is really an issue with the user's preference, not the rules of the contest.
If it helps, I wasn't thinking of asking anyone competing, and most of them aren't SMWC members that I'm aware of.
I don't particularly care if you get people to test your levels. Testing levels and outside feedback are both very important parts of the hacking process.
@TurboMan: Your layout shows Fire Man while you are Turbo Man: why?
joking aside, i played your entry, but when i arrived to the pipe exit in the lava cave (at the beginning of the level and where there are those flying grey turn blocks) i couldn't enter the pipe. Make sure you have tested your level for real, because you could get a low score for it. It seems a polished level, actually!

Also, xjakku's level looks strange for me: the level is a white screen and boss defeated music: I wonder what's the problem with it.

Glad to see it's okay. Last time I'll say this, I'll be offering to test and provide private feedback if you request me by PM to do so. I know we don't have much time left but trust me it helps to have your level tested before submitting it.

Oh god, thanks for pointing that out. I'll fix it right away. Thank you, Dinomar. (And about my layout, I actually had a turboman layout, I just grew tired of it. :P)
And now you realize why others testing your level is useful. We are very close to the deadline, and if a single thing is broken, that would really suck, given how much we worked on our level.

True. I had a friend of mine beta-test it, but he didn't find the secret (I forgot to test it, stupid me). Luckily Dinomar spotted it for me.

Maybe I should have used another color..?
I dont know why but a week ago I used a xkas patch. But I deleted it with AntiXkas shortly after. Is this going to be a problem?

You can just export the mwl files and load them up in a new ROM. It's still vanilla, so it shouldn't be an issue to just move levels like that between them.
By the way, Teyla, why i can't download your entry? Isn't the matter i must be registered to Rustedlogic? I think the File Bin is much more confortable for everyone.
It's contests like these that make me interested enough to post stuff. Can't wait to see what kind of difficulty complaints I'm gonna get this time 'round!
