I actually think it's possible doing this, but that jump with the feather over the lava with those coins is where I went game over. Seriously man, this is insane.

So, I played thru mathelete's level, and have some things to say.
-WTF?
-Credits were epic, nice spinoff
-Seriously, WTF?
-I laughed at the autoscroll part.
Does that level even follow the 75 screen rule?
Anyway, the level can be considered kaizo, or a really hardcore normal level.

In fact, along with this one, I can't download bbk61's entry either because he submitted it to the Hacks section for some reason and it has been removed.
Well fuck. I typo'd the link, and I hope FP will read this. EDIT: renaming the file should've fixed it. Try downloading it now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Ah, now I see. To everyone that wants to play this level, copy and paste the link and remove the 'r1' in 'SwampMarshr1.ips'
Uhm, nope. Use the real V2 download link, it works now. I made a typo in the file, accidentially naming it "SwampMarsh-r1.ips". The - is now removed from the filename, so it SHOULD function properly now.

Got it now.
I have yet to play mathelete's level but V10?!
I don't think I've ever seen anyone make so many revisions.

And even after so many revisions, the level's still full of errors and the design is way too hard. =(

Besides me, who had submitted so many versions of Faceplant? Also, I haven't played mathelete's level yet, but later I'll play it.

Such a shame since what I was able to play looks nice too.
I feel like a huge idiot right now. The level you enter on the overworld is 11D - the title screen - instead of 11E. If you want to play the actual level, a quick Lunar Magic edit should be doable.
I'm not exactly expecting a high place right now.

More thorough testing would've prevented that, wouldn't it? Quite a shame, it looked very promising.

Which jump? you mean the ones where I have coins directing you?
I tested it, I made it so that the lava is just low enough to not hurt you. This now concerns me, since I did not want that jump to be difficult (which is why I even put coins)
And yes, I intended my level to be the hardest of all the entries, though I think I kinda failed (Felipe's level cough cough)
Edit: Oh shit, I am glad someone pointed out the 75 screen rule. I forgot about it. But now I have looked back at my level...I think it still follows the 75 screen rule.
/me checks in Lunar Magic
Ok, I am fine. If you go through door 3 (the shortest room), it is 59 screens.
If you go through door 4 (the longest room), it is 69 screens

Wait, what do you mean? The screen limit is a limit on the whole level, not individual paths. If the total amount of screens used on all paths of the level plus any cutscenes or anything like that exceeds 75 screens, it's not following the rules and will be disqualified.

Oh F---
Now I have to pray the judges don't notice...

That's unlikely considering I'm a judge and I know the judges read this thread. Sorry, but it's not my fault that in the ten revisions you made to the level you couldn't be bothered to read the rules correctly.

So I changed to 11E in ferrety's level and the design was very good. How did you do that effect with the Yoshi Coins? Some sort of ExAnimation?
BTW, don't the judges open levels in LM to check number of screens?

It shouldn't matter to the judges because his level is of very low quality regardless. I'd imagine mathlete will be very lucky if his entry isn't outright disqualified.

Just finished playing The Flipside by notgoodwithusernames. He certainly made very creative use of the climbing nets and vines.

I just finished playing through this year's entries, and I have to say, most (!) of you need to improve your spritework. Enemies shouldn't just be there to populate the stage; ideally, they should be an integral part of the experience along with everything else. I've lost count of the number of entries in which most of the enemies used just harmlessly walked back and forth on platforms, isolated from everything else. Some authors didn't even bother to test their spritework, and so the enemies were completely ineffective just because they were placed in the wrong locations.
Something else I noticed was that some of you simply tried to do too much within a single level, and it backfired on you, either because it detracted from the sense of theme, made dying frustrating because you have to repeat a lot, or made the concepts in each individual area feel underdeveloped. The levels I liked most tended to pick a single overarching theme and stick to it, developing it as the level progressed.
Something to think about.

Umm... what happened to Forsaken Fortress? When I start the level, I hear no music at all and if I die or finish the level the game crashes. Also, I went in a pipe and ended up at some random goal. Uhhh... WTF?

Quite scary how many people made these idiotic mistakes, they could have catched those by testing the game once.

+1, but I expected the level to have more stuff involved with the net, and not floating platforms between each part. Still it was well made.
Almost 100 hundred entries, I just played through the half now, I only noticed 7 levels really worth it by now.
edit: oh by the way, I don't steam or anything so if I win a prize, you can keep it.
