I'll be honest; in some ways I miss the bonkers, lenient ruleset of the 2010 contest. Such lenient rules have no place in the contest nowadays, but we got some pretty crazy stuff in that contest that year.

Maybe someday I'll host a contest where you you can do anything except use graphics from other games. Don't hold me to that though.
Is it OK to have a seperate level that explains the ending and posibly showing the credits? Its because layer 2 vertical sub-levels like having layer 2 not interact no matter the settings...
I've decided on a whim to join this. I actually forgot this was around right now untill I was going around the forums and saw this. My level is shaping to be quite nice, even though I've but completed the intro part.
It's been a while since I've worked with Lunar Magic, that much that I am actually using Lunar Magic 1.82 right now... Is that against the rules, or is it only common sense to use 1.91?

You can use any version of Lunar Magic; I'm using v1.65 because I'm a crazy fool.

Also I should really get to finishing up my level soon.
Question:

Can you use the bowser fight and the ending for your entry?

They say you could use anything that's part of the original game, but I really wouldn't recommend having the Bowser fight in there.
Would anyone like to test out my level? It's roughly 50% complete, and it should be done by tomorrow night or so.
Submissions list has been updated.
So,any favourites to win the competition yet?
Me. I will win because my level is the best.

I don't know, I haven't played any entries and I don't plan of playing them before the entries submissions end.

PS: I lied, my level is not the best.
Little over half way done aaaand... we got a week left. Darn. I'm gonna have to drop out. Shame I couldn't finish but school and education have to come first. If anyone wants me to play/test their level and offer feedback, PM me. Otherwise I'm waiting until after the deadline to play levels. Good luck to everyone else!
Just gonna link this video here in case anyone is interested in my level, although it contains spoilers.

Ohai. So after somehow finding some extra time, I'm entering after all once again!

Here's hoping that focusing a little less on the graphical aspect of my level will help me win a trophy this time.
Quick question. Are we allowed to use the SHIFT+F8 fix for the display level message sprite?
Must... stop... procrastinating...
Just submitted my level just now.

I'm now just waiting for my well-deserved 1st place. So, what do you think of my level?

I too have submitted my level. I did use the display level message fix. I presume that's allowed as it's built in with LM.

Will anyone be LP'ing the levels this year?

Ok, quick question because I'm a slowpoke:

In LM 1.90, I noticed there is a possibility in the 16x16 editor to edit each 8x8 tile of a 16x16 object, so it is allowed to edit the palette for each one?

To be more precise, let's say I have a block which use tiles A5,A6,B5 and B6, can I use a different palette for each one? (like A5 use palette 4, A6 use palette 5, etc...)

Its more than allowed, as its basic map 16 editing wich previous versions of LM could do.
I just submitted my entry, so I thought I should post here to tell some stuff about it. I decided to stick with the purpose of this contest, so I didn't use any extra pages of map16 or exanimation at all; I did use the palette editor and super GFX bypass (for sprites) though. The level is Bowser's Castle, so don't expect something easy, I'd say it has world 5-6 castle difficulty.
