Yup, after a year of not giving a shit, (tm) I've come back to it, updated, and finished it.
Right now it's only got a few tools, and I'm willing to listen to you for what you want added.
3.2.x is out, with more tools
Link to download and more info

I'm not even gonna bother to download it, as I have a image of suse 12.1 on my computer so far and I hate that version.
The tools, are a good start up, have you thought about adding in a spc player/editor a few music tools for people who might bring their work to linux ?
Also I would try adding snes9x as well, zsnes is not always a good fit for testing rom hacks consistantly and at times maybe in accurate.

There is an SPC player.
I'd have prefered Debian, but only openSUSE offers tools that don't make me want to punch puppies. shame because openSUSE is shit compared to debian (but this isn't, i hope)
All 3 emulators are there as well.
It's got xfce, so it's lightweight but not a clusterfuck like gnome 3

You could (in theory) use Alien to convert and install special packages for Debian, with XFCE. Xubuntu might be a good start, tear it down and build it back up, make a live ISO, etc.
Maybe when you do give a shit enough, make an FTP to host the software or PPA server to push updates to the few that will be using it. Should be no problem.

Commie, why not make a full distro out of it.
Make one for 11.4 over this week and host it online.
Doing a tutorial on cracle VM and basic linux install for new poeple who are getting into computers.
I dont know what it is about 12.1 release, but my computer does not like it and it had some bugs going on with it when I tested it over xmas last year.

Sorry I took so long, I was busy with other things...
I prefer it to be an appliance of sorts: an appliance with tools designed to edit Super Mario World.
11.4? you can't make appliances with that anymore.
Also, you can try it out in a VM right in your browser: the testdrive is a little slow and there's no networking excepting SSH in and no audio.
