Tip: Test your levels as all forms of Mario (small, super, fire, cape). If it's possible to enter a level with Yoshi, make sure to test that as well.

Copy and paste it. I need to figure out why I can't link anything. Fixed. ~Kieran

I never played much of Psychonauts, but what I did play was pretty damn fun, so I should give it a shot. Glad to see a sequel.

This may me good buisness wise. Cobalt wouldn't of sold nearly as well if it was published by someone else.

This could be interesting. I enjoyed playing Psychonauts.
Psychonauts 1 was quite enjoyable and underrated, I hope the funding from Notch doesn't mean he takes control of the project and turns it into an overblown mess.
Just as long as Notch isn't in charge of anything important this could turn out well. Not that I doubt his ability to do certain tasks, but if he's proven anything with Minecraft it's that he cannot properly finish a project. Psychonauts 2 by Notch would have Raz with only 5 character animations, more bugs than Skyrim, and an ending that would make "A WINNER IS YOU" seem conclusive, but hey, at least he'd be guaranteed to put in (mostly) solid gameplay backed by a fun premise.
I'm like the only one in the world that didn't really like psychonauts. The art style bugged me (internal organs, like brains, give me some serious body horror. Cartoon or not).
I've been meaning to buy Psychonauts. I really hope this is just a funding deal rather than a "I get to work on the game alongside you" deal because Notch's influence on other indie developers is a negative one. My biggest gripe with him is that he thinks that anyone can get away with $15 alpha builds. I used to also hate him a lot because he was a lazy coder, constantly going on vacations and having breaks rather than worry about his game, who was too busy rolling in money to manage his own game which he lost motivation to work on since he was working on another game while his first game wasn't even finished which he passed on to a coder that was universally more liked than him.

Ending that rant, I should buy this game.
I must admit that my faith in Notch dropped significantly after the whole establishment of Mojang as a proper company, not to mention the premature release of Minecraft "1.0". On the other hand, if I suddenly found yourself in possession of a hundred million dollars (which is approximately how much minecraft has made so far), I guess I would try to set up a company as well. It is my impression that most of his "vacations" were, in fact, business trips. So, I don't necessarily think he should be written off as a bad guy yet.

Is it in the Australian blood to hate everything Blumiere?
Also Notch said he would only publish/fund the game, and he would not be involved in development at all.

Also I haven't played Psychonauts, I should buy it some day. Maybe the next sale... Hopefully I'll have a PayPal account for myself by then.
One of my friends gave me a boxed copy of Psychonauts maybe 5 years ago or something I dunno. It never ran on my old computer so I just gave it away. I really had no idea it was such an acclaimed game.

That stuff creeps me out too, no idea the game was like that. Kinda glad it never ran now actually...
I loved the first one to death, it was great. I praise Notch for funding the next one, but thank god he isn't gonna work on it. I don't think of him as a bad guy or anything, he is just sort of lazy and that doesn't really work in game design.

I knew this would come in handy.
I bought the first Psychonauts a little while ago after hearing so many people praise it. I still haven't started in on it yet, but if it's as underrated and interesting as everyone claims it is, then I'm sure this sequel will take off quite nicely.

I won't bother sharing my thoughts on Notch. What I have to say about him has already been said anyway.
Eh, the people who made Psychonauts went on to make Brutal Legend, a less than stellar game; I'd say they've fallen far from the apple tree of good games now.

Also, Psychonauts really doesn't need any kind of sequel. What made it so great was how different the whole concept was compared to traditional platformer fare. If they make another one, it'll lose that unique feel and essentially pull a Bioshock 2. If they do make another one, I hope they completely change the main character, setting, and explore another area of the Psychonauts universe instead of retreading old ground that need not be touched. Still, with my scepticisms aside I'm interested to see what happens. Just keep Notch away from the programmer chair! He has an insatiable appetite for badly optimising good natured and law abiding code!
What you fail to understand is that when Tim Schafer went on to make Brutal Legend he was being hounded by his sponsors to make it more appealing to a mainstream audience. I imagine that if the funding for Psychonauts 2 is coming from someone who won't force his opinions on Tim Schafer, the game will be better for it, and will probably be better than most mainstream titles, although it will probably be under-appreciated like the first Psychonauts.

Although yes, I will agree that a sequel seems unnecessary at best.
