Hello! Im really really new in this hacking Super Mario thing. I downloaded lunar magic, and im eager to make a hack focused on the text/narrative side -probably because im miles away from making a real level-. So it would be simple, but full of text.
Heres my problem, and perhaps its stupid, but still: i cant find anywhere on lunar magic the text box, that little box that mario punches to realse large amounts of text and free the screen. This probably sounds stupid. I bet it does. Anyway, if anyone can help me, I would be more that thankfull.

PD: Sorry for the grammar problems; i dont speak that much english.
Open the Sprite edit mode (The green shell in the toolbar), now click on the blue baby yoshi (Sprite box), stay on "Standard Sprites" and search for number B9. It is the "Info Box, message 1/2 (X&1)".

Hope that helps! And welcome to SMWCentral!
To add to that, if you want to change what the message box says, click on the "fortress" icon on the toolbar. This should bring up the overworld map. Then click the purple message box icon in the toolbar (When hovering over the icon it should say "Open "Edit Message Box Text" Dialog" or something like that.), find the level number of the level you are changing in the list and type in your own exciting text!
And you can only have two of them in one level (inclusive sub-levels) without ASM stuff.
Than u guys! Im kind of dissapointed, cause i was really hoping to focus on the story (wanna make it some kind of mario live poem). Is that ASM stuff hard to master? what do i need to add as many text boxes as i want? I really would appreciate some help, though many wont enjoy my hack -it will be in spanish, of course, im no english poet-
ASM is very difficult to learn. You could always use cutscenes though, those are easier to make, to my knowledge anyway, and you can have quite a few. Just remember though, I'm pretty sure one cutscene, scene, costs one level (or sublevel).
I thought I'd mention this. Let's say you are using, for example, level 1. Now let's say you want to go down a pipe to, for example, level 2. If you decide to use an Info Block on level 2, make sure you edit the text for level 1. Not level 2, as you would probably assume. The Info Block's information is always relevant to the initial level number in use. Hope that made sense.
If you want more text boxes, though, you could use a custom sprite or block and possibly the VWF patch, although that patch might be a bit advanced for you if you're new to SMW hacking. There should be custom sprites or blocks somewhere that will display specific messages, though.
