Tip: Create a fair "difficulty curve" - that is, start off easy and then get gradually more difficult as the hack progresses.
No midpoints?

Okay, don't get me wrong. I really (x5) wouldn't want to release a hack that doesn't have midpoints. (Did I mention I really wouldn't want to?)

But I've honestly tried really hard to try and get the multiple mid points patch working. The problem is, on some levels the midpoint works and the others levels the midpoint won't work.. (There's a lot more levels it won't work for.) And honestly I tried everything and just can't seem to get it working at all.

Here's my thread in the General Hack Helping Midpoint Help Thread

So just wondering if I had too, would I be able to release the hack without midpoints? (At least for some levels.) I'm strongly against this but from the looks of it, it's seeming like a possibility.

Edited: I'm on my third week on trying to get it to work btw.

To my knowledge, you can do it, of course.
In the demo of my hack, which got accepted, there is only 1 midway point. It shouldn't be a problem to do it.
I just can't see no problem with hacks without midpoints, this is just a feature. It's as ask "can I make a hack with no koopas, or any other thing?". The features you include your hack are of your choice.
The inclusion of midpoint is optional but it's a bit annoying when you die and you need to do the level all over again.

Of course it's a feature you can choice but the hack will be much more difficult (and/or confusing, restarting the level.)
In those levels with no midpoints, I hope they're not real super long or else the player will probably decide "screw it" and start using savestates after dying and starting over at the beginning for the umpteenth time. I've seen the level videos and they are about 3-4 minutes in duration.

Um...no it's not quite like asking that. Unlike Koopas (Or whatever you mean) midpoints are more important; which is why most hacks include them. I agree that it would be annoying to have to start from the beginning of the level each time you die. (Which is why people woud probably consider this a problem.)

That's part of the reason I'd prefer not to release the hack without midpoints but I honestly been trying for awhile to get the multiple midpoints patch and so far I've only gotten it to work in some levels but for the most part, most don't work. I'm not in any rush to release this but I'm going to have to release the hack eventually. (I'd rather not spend months trying to get the patch to work.)

Well there's actually no real super long levels. The only level that's long is the last level of the hack. Regardless I still would much rather have midpoints then no midpoints. (Don't get me wrong.)
Well, when you don't get the Multi Mid-point patch working. Why don't you include just one midpoint in your level?
^ Maybe the problem is: no space in the first part of the level. This patch isn't just for put a lot of midpoints in a level, but also makes the level uses another sublevel midway entrance as the main midway entrance. Is something like this, I really tried but I have no idea how to use it.

...Anyways you're allowed to make a hack without them, but keep in your mind hacks with long AND hard levels are pretty boring. A good solution is... Have a save point in every level, or at least in the big levels, maybe... Or find a way to put a midway point in some levels by some way.

Also sorry for the example, but this isn't a problem, right? :P

Well most of the midpoints are on the sub levels. (The level with cut scenes warp you to a sublevel instead and that's where the level will start.)

Well maybe I'll have to just stick with that alternative..somehow.

Hmm..well a save point after each level sounds good. Well I think I might've found a way around not getting the path to work. (The way I'm thinking of might be a little odd but it's better then not having midpoints at all.)
