| Tip: Avoid "item babysitting". Do not force the player to drag P-Switches or springboards all around the level. This is not fun, nor does it make for interesting "puzzles". |

So, I'm going to carnival again this year. Having lived in Breda, the Netherlands for about 8 years, I have seen this event happening quite a number of times and it was always a fun event. Going out in various wacky costumes is a real fun thing to do - even as a kid, which I was back then.
This year, after 6 years of not having celebrated carnival in any way whatsoever, I am returning to Breda with a few friends for carnival. If you wonder, I will be going as an Anonymous hacker (more known as the "Occupy demonstrators" here since many people from Anonymous took active part in it, and thus they are associated with Occupy). Anyway, aside from the going out and different clothing part, it will also certainly become an alcohol-rich event, I presume. Which is fine, but I think I'll try to keep it easy, considering I don't want to give out too much money. There are other things you can do with that money. =)
Anyhow - what I want to know is: do you guys ever celebrate carnival? If so, how do you like such an event? I heard Mardi Gras is similar, so maybe you can relate to that if you ever went there. If not, is there any part of your country in which carnival is indeed celebrated? For example, the part where I live in (Utrecht) knows no celebration of carnival, aside from a few small exceptions. It is pretty much only celebrated in the south of the Netherlands - Brabant and Limburg.

I dunno if I will join a carnival party again. Last year I had so much fun at carnival in Uruguay (yes, there's carnival there, so, why not?), there were a lot of people there and I had the time to dance, much to my happiness. My dad for some reason don't like carnival (He mentions "There are person killing themselves and vice-versa", which is weird because I've never seen something like this happening at carnival).

I'm probably going to a carnival parade with my family on Monday. I don't think I'll dress up in a costume, though, because I don't really like doing that.
We actually go to said parade almost every year, but from what I've heard this is quiet possibly the last time it takes place in the city I live, for financial reasons.

The only time I can remember myself joining in on a carnival was in second grade, when I wore a Pikachu costume. It's quite some time since I did that, though, and I can't really remember anyone else celebrating it, either. I don't like dressing myself up, though, so maybe it's for the better. Maybe.

Since a lot of time i don't join carnival! But rather than joining it, i really would like to make a costume of my own.

I haven't been to a Mardi Gras parade since I moved from New Orleans. Hopefully I can get a chance next year
Also, a majority of the drinking/flashing/etc. that you hear about from Mardi Gras in New Orleans is pretty much tourists near Bourbon Sreet. Mardi Gras parades are actually pretty family-friendly (except maybe Krewe de Vieux or Krewe d'Etat), and they're a lot of fun (especially since they start having parades a couple of weeks before Mardi Gras.) I think our group costume the last time I went was clowns or something.

I remember dressing as Mario many many years ago during carnival. It was super! I still have that red hat =)
Anyway, I'm not celebrating it anymore, though carnival is pretty popular in my country and we have some parades every year.
Also Viareggio's Carnival is the most famous here in Italy, but I've never been there.

Of course I celebrate. At school we have a party every year. It's really crazy, but everybody likes it

I never attended carnival and probably never will. It's not that I don't like it, it's just that we never have these things around this area. I'd imagine it's pretty fun for a variety of reasons though.
Have fun Roy! Drink responsibly and spend your money on the other stuff you were thinking about whatever it was.

I never went to anything Carnival-related (besides some partys) and never will, because of the atmosphere outsides in carnival. Many people tend to get kinda drunk, and since I had bad memories being outside during carnival, I better stay home, altrough I might invite some friends.

Well, that was definitely worth the trouble. I totally forgot how great carnival actually was - if it weren't for the people I was with, I would've stayed a couple hours extra. Now I only stayed there until about 2:45 (got home around 5:00). Staying until about 5:00 was my original plan, but apparently that wasn't a welcome plan for the people I went with.
Though, some of them told me afterwards that we should've stayed until 5:00 anyway because it was different from what they expected. Aye.
Unfortunately, there are no photos from my side. I think I can get some photos from my friends and perhaps one random girl to whom I said to relay our photo on Facebook may do that as well. I stupidly forgot to bring my photo camera with me. =(
