This may or may not be a Taboo topic, but I was wondering... why do we not get along with Talkhaus? They seem like a nice group of people. I have seen some rules on there regarding "Having different views, blah blah blah" between the two sites. I just do not get it. If this is something beyond my grasp, then please mods, do your job in disposing of this thread. Just wanted to know what it was all about.

There's a sort of fake animosity between the communities, but I haven't seen anyone actually talking bad about either on either community (granted, I'm not that active of talkhaus anymore). It might have something to do with this perceived notion that talkhaus hates us because of our elitist rules, and then the talkhaus thinks that we think we are better than them. I don't think it's a real animosity, and I've never had anything but pleasant experiences with talkhausers (jesus is one of them if I remember correctly).

We don't really have anything against them and they don't really have anything against us. Some users from here go there, and others from there go here. Yes, there was a time a year or so ago where a small group of generally disliked folks there tried to stir up some inter-community shit, but since that time has mostly come and gone, things seem to have calmed down. If that stickied thread by raocow regarding not bashing SMWC is still there, it's still there because of that particular situation I mentioned above .. which actually led to a very high amount of people hating the Talkhaus, some of which still do today.
(I won't lie, that board has some pretty shitty users, but a fair amount of them are pretty decent I guess. Then again, every board has its flaws, so whatever.)

I personally have nothing against the Talkhaus and have visited the site on several occasions. I had an account, but I never use it.
I don't like the board style (layout, font colour, lack of proper capitalization in the forum names), but I like a lot of the site's users. Plus, raocow is Canadian, so I have to like him.

Yup. Raocow is a good player though, plus it's a rarity to see a player use no save states.

Weren't we supposed to affiliate ourselves with Talkhaus to become a more coexisting and harmonious SMW hacking duo? I recall there being talk about it a few months before I left staff.

Ahh, I see. Well I was wondering, because I saw those rules. Then after the rules, some people commented and it seemed... they didn't really care for SMWC? But that was only a minority of them. Most of them I think said they did not have anything against SMWCentral Users. And most of them do not even know why some people were trying to start stuff. But nonetheless, I like that community too =D I may not post there much in relation to this site, nor will I probably ever will, but it is a pretty good community over there too. Also Raocow is a champ haha.

Yes, and we even went as far as talking to TLs4. It never actually went beyond that though since I .. well, never actually saw him log into MSN again. For now, it's more like a "neutral/good terms"-styled relationship.
(I mean, at this point, it's also a regular member from here basically saving their collab hack A2MT from falling into a hole, so I'd be surprised if they bit the hand that fed them.)

Feels like forever ago when all this drama happened and I was being a huge tool, I'm surprised that thread is still stickied on there, it's not like anything's happening between SMWC and the haus nowadays.
