Tip: Check for glitched graphics in all frames of an object or sprite (i.e., the ON/OFF block changing, etc...).

Don't take it so literally.

we are only discussing incorrect names. We are not discussing a hack or a level, only the interface of a hacking tool. I though hack discussion was to discuss hacking itself, not non-hack related stuff about the hacking tool (yeah, names are non-hack related, since they don't actually make a difference when hacking)

This is offtopic and also backseat moderating////backseatmoderating

Please no what your saying; it makes you look like a fool/////justplainolcondescending

Anywho, P-Switches, in my knowledge, were used as "replacements" for the POW Block. The P, in my most educational guess, could mean POW, meaning "POW Switch", a switch version of the POW.

Just my speculation.

They have two very different uses, nonetheless.

The Silver P-Switch is a P-Switch; its similarities are not even that big; since the POW Block destroys EVERY sprite enemy.

Plus...its just a recolor of the normal one.

~

Anywho, names might not be a priority right now, but I really think they should get their proper names for the sake of "correctness"

I like my Cheep-Cheep called a Cheep-Cheep.

And I get tired of incorrectly searching that instead of "fish"

Which also affects the Blurps ;/
I agree, it's a switch, which, yes, does something different than the POW block, but it's a switch not a block, so it can do something different. "P" would likely mean POW, and if it doesn't what DOES it mean.
@mathelete: Please stop making the staff regret their decision to unban you. =/

With that aside, the incorrect enemy/object names are simply just human error from FuSoYa.

You can simply ask FuSoYa to fix them in the next release of Lunar Magic or you can fix them yourself by using the file extensions that Lunar Magic supports: dsc, ssc, etcetera. That way, you can have your own custom tooltips in which black piranha plant gets replaced with muncher.

It's just that simple if you read the documentation.

There's no need to whine to dinomarish levels just because of a few incorrect names. :P

I'm confused; I thought we can't change it ourselves; only the descriptions? (Which I'm actually interested on finding out how...)
What the hell does dinomarish even mean?

Anyway...when I was young, I though p stands for "push"

Maybe it DOES...
Maybe it does, but even so, Push Switch just sounds wierd to me... since you naturally would PUSH a switch. However POW seems to be a style of something in Mario Universe. Something that affects a mass area of stuff.
It could also stand for "power switch"
Think about it..."power star...power switch"
Then again, it is only temporary, so I think pow is correct.
I have a feeling that the gray pswitch is what nintendo originally had in mind, since it seems to have similiar effects as a pow from mario bros, and then they decided to also throw in a blue variant.
I'm going to go with the theory that "P" doesn't stand for anything and it should just be called a "P-Switch".
I think you are right. Consider the ! block. Why the exclamation mark? There is no exclamation that we need the exclamation mark. Also. the P balloon. I actually think P means power. Cause Pow balloon? makes no sense.
I think it's P of powerup in the ballon. And the ! on the switch block is just to put something into it. Also, a P inside of a ballon and a ! inside of a block are really cool, don't you think?

Anyways I don't understand why you do care for it.
I really don't understand why others are caring about this, but since the thread is still going, it seems important. Anyway, I have a feeling that P DOES mean push or press, since I cannot think of anything else.

The blue P-Switch existed first, in SMB3.
oh yeah, I totally forgot. So I think it means push or press. Then again, I am probably being silly.
I don't think so, P-Balloon is Push-Balloon? This doesn't make sense, I think that P stands for Power or Powerup, anyway, other people cares for this thread because there's people who confuse about enemies name and thus, express their opinion here.

I think power is more accurate
Powerup switch?
no, I think power switch makes more sense
As does power balloon. I think we should come to a consensus that power is what p stands for.

Alternate option: Ask Shigeru
I'm pretty damn sure it stands for "power".

I'm also pretty damn sure it doesn't really matter. Sheesh people #mlp{dh}
I agree with you that it doesn't matter. Maybe this thread should be closed...I don't see it going anywhere.
If P does mean Power, then POW isn't wrong either, since POW can easily be shortened POW(er).
I always thought P does mean power. I mean it certainly makes me if you think about it and the P on the balloon must mean power-up.
