Finally...
This hack's provisional completion has taken me 1,259 days and me and others have put a lot of effort into making it a good hack.

The Provisional Final Release contains many fixes and updates as well as harder boss battles for those, which have been unaltered before.

So without further ado, you can download the provisonal final version here; there now is a German and Romanian version as well:

Words cannot express how thrilled I am that you have finally completed this hack. During the approximately 2 and a half years you've been working on it, I have been gladly beta testing all of the levels for you, and during that time, I have really enjoyed getting to know you and working with you, for you and I have become good friends during that time.

This hack is an absolute masterpiece, and it is without a doubt my favourite of the completed Yoshi's Island hacks. When it comes to level design, you are incredibly talented and you are able to come up with some extremely creative ideas for this hack.

Again, I am very glad you've finally completed and released this amazing hack. Whenever I don't have a lot of motivation to hack, I play a few levels of your hack and I find my motivation rapidly returning. Your hack has inspired me to finally finish and release a hack of my own, and I am determined to do that.

Congratulations for finishing and releasing this masterpiece. Ever since I got the first demo to beta test I knew this was going to turn out to be a great hack, and I was not wrong in the slightest.

Edit: As from tomorrow, I shall also restart my playthrough of this hack on Youtube.

About how difficult and puzzle-heavy is this compared to the original? My previous experience with YI hacks has been almost nothing but bad because nobody seems to be able to design levels in a way that doesn't drive me nuts (beating the level is enough of a pain; forget about getting 100), but I could maybe give this one a shot.

Looks cool!

But I have a problem: I tried patching it to 12 different ROMs (J, U and E), but none worked. I always get "area *randomchars*" as the internal ROM name, and nothing happens.
Headered 1.0 (U) ROM does the trick.
Works fine for me.
Tried many sites, never found one. There are always some "(M3)" after, and I don't know how to locate an headered ROM.

Edit: My Antivir is going mad right now, testing too many ROM sites is dangerous!

Who would put viruses on a ROM site?
They make their money with ads.

Anyways, kinda crappy sources you have, eh?

Normally, I take my ROMs there, btw.

But I got one anyway, I just started and it's amazing so far!
Good. Then you've most likely picked the wrong download before.
Now that's cleared, have fun with the game! #w{=D}
Wow, a full release? I knew the hack was really close, but that's a surprise. I guess I know what I'll be playing for a while now. Congratulations on the fourth complete YI hack! (Or third, depending on whether Kamek's Revenge counts as complete.)

By the way, I think the (M3) ROM is the same. What matters is that it's v1.0, (U), and headered.

Also, don't name ROM sites directly-- that's basically the same thing as linking to them.

Playing. Now. I suprised here that one can redo hack such greatly. I not mean any disrespect there, but I say that is an honor to have this done here :). I immediately play now this.

EDIT: L-L-L-evel up!

Sounds very nice! I'm downloading it right now, and when I have tme, I'll play it. Hope it's not as complicate as the standard Yoshi Island!#w{xD}
Haha, I find it funny how I thought this was SMW hack. Anyways, still looks great and I plan on playing it as soon as I can.
This is awesome. I never hacked YI, but played it for a big time (100%ed the entire game). I can't wait to try this out! (Yeah I hope that is not harder than YI, even the original game itself was a pain. :D)
Sorry, @ all, but unlike SMW2+2 this hack is harder than the original YI. I didn't want to have an unchallenging hack, so I hope it's not too hard for you.
"Unlike SMW2+2"...

Well, after 1-3, I have to say...no. Just no. I mean, it was an easy enough stage to beat, but how the crap am I supposed to get 100 points? How do you get all that stuff in the car room? (And who the heck puts Blowhards in 1-1?!) Getting everything in the original YI was plenty tricky enough...and even beating every stage might not have been too much of a challenge, but it was no walk in the park either (and then you have certain stages, like 6-5 and any of the Extras, that were just plain nasty). I'm sorry, but if you're really intending the hack to be twice as hard to beat and three times as hard to complete as the original Yoshi's Island, don't expect me to play it for very long.

You can knock out a blowhard by doing a ground pound, so it's easy enough to dodge them. You can also eat the yellow cacti they spit.
You can climb a wall using the car by pressing B fast in a row.
Also, you can grab bubbles and use them to perform hight jumps. While you're standing on the ground, spit them upwards and jump at the same time to make a huge jump.
Not knowing things like that might cause some troubles with the first few levels, yes.
Also, since you seem to dislike hard hacks, you haven't played Kamek's Revenge either, I think? If so, this hack's difficulty is too high, too.
(Also, why 6-5? I guess you've just started playing?)

I know.

Yeah, that's news to me. Maybe because I never had to do that in the original game? (And no message box explained it...)

I've played some of Kamek's Revenge. I think I started thinking "oh crap..." partway through world 1 (if no earlier, 1-6 definitely did it) and outright gave up on it once I got to 2-2.

Yeah, welcome to the world of ROM hacking, where the number of hacks that don't qualify as "hard" can be counted on one hand. One hand that's just had a couple of fingers sliced off by a wood chipper. Thanks for the warning, though; now I know not to bother trying any other stages.

6-5 in the original Yoshi's Island. An autoscroll level that I don't hate is a rarity, and that one was no exception to the rule.

The car thing is explained as soon as you need it to complete a stage. Also, you seem to want to have served up everything on a plate. If you instantly know what to do everytime it's boring, ya know?

Err, yeah, if by "not hard" you mean "easier than the original", what's the point of that?

Your choice, I'm not forcing anybody to play if they don't want to.

Hated the stage, too, but now I love how challenging it is. The challenge is what makes a game (for me at least).
