After finding the two keys and getting a better sense of this maze's progression, I ended up using the intended solution you posted for getting the fire melon. But now I'm curious... when you posted 'I intended you to shoot an egg up there then get the melon from below with a little glitch', what glitch did you mean? You don't need any kind of glitch to get it with the arrow. Just some good maneuvering.

What the heck?!?
I just returned from a "little" party with an estimated 2.0 per mill, but are you still claiming it is intended to grab the Melon from below? No! Use the Arrow Platform, get to the area with the Melon, grab it, then go to the ice blocks It is intended to just grab it while it hangs in the air, nothing more, nothing less. No egg shooting necessary at all. The thing with shooting an egg was the thing I first believed you did. Like this: Get Purple Guy, walk over Spikes, shoot egg, make a high jump with Purple Guy, grab Melon through ground. I guess it was a misunderstanding.
Anyway, why do you do the intended solution, when it's easier to just exploit the mistakes I made?
@tehaxor69:
Even if the new Offset is changed, too, it doesn't work... Seems like there are like hundred Offsets, which must be changed in order to fully change the Item Card handling. Everytime I test it, it got some errors, the weirdest was, that I was able to use an Item infinitely.

Oh my God. I spent an eternity getting that arrow block to the very beginning of the maze, and used it to get up to that one pipe off to the left, and completed that circuit just to find it was just a unique way down and that if I wanted to take it I was supposed to shoot the ? block and goad the bandit over to jump on. At least I assume so, since I didn't find anything in the car section and came out on a chomp rock that unveiled nothing but stars. I feel like a blasted idiot. And yeah, this deal with the fire melon has been one series of misunderstandings and me badly wording things from the start so just ignore it and be happy knowing yeah, I got it with the arrow block this time.
I'm going into the third portion of the level (the giant tap-tap) with 6 red coins and 2 flowers. Does that sound right? I'm sure it's not, and I'm sure I'm missing a few things from that maze that didn't jump out at me.
EDIT: And I do it the intended way because it's not easier to exploit the mistakes you made. Avoiding killing that Zeus Guy with the purple guy on your way up and then doing a perfect bounce off his head is a huge pain in the ass.

You are missing
I furthermore am happy to see you managed to get both keys. I was afraid they might be a little too well-hidden, but it seems like it's just OK.
Also, what's wrong about the Chomp? You've obviously found out about it (score)!
@tehaxor69:
Testing the original ROM with its 27 items, the issue of an unusable item appeared. When you have 27 items and you use the one on the far right, there will be a duplicate of the one next to it on the right side, which can't be used. This is not fixed in 1.1 of the American version, haven't tested other ones.
But the difference between items in stock and items shown is still there. Maybe you got more Offsets?
Also, the unusable item issue could be fixed by making the selection cursor jump to the beginning after choosing an item plus reducing the number of scrollable fields by 1 immediately after using an item.

How about 7 reds? I've exhausted everything I can possibly think of for searching.
Also, is it normal to have to redo some of the maze to spawn the arrow block twice if you're going for 100%?

You've read the spoiler above? Yes, 7 Red Coins are just rite!
Actually, it's not necessary to repeat parts of the maze for the Arrow Lift. As soon as you got the Arrow Lift once, you never need to get it again and can get all bonus stuff left in the castle area without losing it.
Also, once you finish the level, you should have like 30 Stars, 20 Red Coins and 5 Flowers.

Oh... oh, I think I'm doing something really wrong, then.
I'm using the arrow block to get through that very narrow tunnel of lava, which means entering that optional door, which means despawning the arrow block. You emerge somewhere else in the maze that I can't quite remember, but it's not where the arrow block is. Since entering that door also resets the ice blocks it's not like you can melt them before entering it, so it seemed to me you need the arrow block two times because both things seemed mutually exclusive. The other arrow block-related area has a spare when you emerge.
EDIT: I think I have an idea what it is I'm doing wrong, too. I'll need to go check real quick.
DOUBLE EDIT: And the last red coin I was missing was the really well-hidden one involving the red bridge. You know which one I mean. That was clever. I should've known I was missing it since you can see the red coin a couple of times all on its own but I guess I just forgot it was there and that there had to be a way to it.

@Serebel: I see.
Also, for the arrow lift: To make 100%, use it to enter the narrow passage upwards. Then, get the red coin, which involves <-Spoiler
Afterwards, grab the second Arrow Lift, which is there after you've solved the puzzle, grab the Firemelon, go backwards to the Ice Blocks, melt it and proceed through the door, easy as that.
Also, you've just reminded me of a major bug, so thanks for that (doesn't matter in case you don't get what I mean ).

Is it managing to get the door hidden in the spikes you're supposed to have fall onto the red bridge go to the bottom of the room, triggering that famous 1-1 warp?

Exactly. Just prevented it from happening by setting yellow, indestructible Spikes under the second layer of blue spikes, so the door can only be used if it fell on the bridge .
Also, Serebel, I removed the egg box, so it's not too obvious there is something hidden on that part of the bridge <-Spoiler
There's a little chance you can get stuck there/be forced to self-kill, but the problem of being stuck is avoided by Secret levels being Start+Select-able (in order to quit the level).

I agree that's it's enough of a hint that you never have to go through that little section otherwise, whether to collect anything else or to move through the level. So people should be able to reason that there's something suspicious there to begin with.
EDIT: How about just moving the egg block to before the flippers that lead into that section? It won't hint at anything specific and it'll give players a chance to stock up to full before they go through. In a level like this people should be playing cautiously and stocking up whenever the opportunity knocks, honestly. If they aren't, well, woe is them. I think that seems like a fair compromise. There's no way someone would run out of eggs in that section before finding the secret with six of them.

Yes, that's my point too. Actually, I first wanted this passage to confuse the player and make the level even more non-linear. Since the more ways you can choose the bigger is your confusion. But I would rather have something there to assure that the player doesn't run out of eggs, but then again an egg box is too obvious...

How am I supposed to pass 6-3? There is a door right after a midway point that leads to a game crash! The screen fades to black, and then the music cuts out and i cannot get passed it! Suggestions?

Best suggestion is a pair of glasses
No, sorry, for that, seriously, please check the first post, there is a patch to fix that. Please don't take it amiss, also I'm sorry such a stupid glitch exists in the hack.

So I finally, finally managed to beat 6-S, and it was a hell of a finale. I managed all but 1 flower, for 90 points. Not bad for an initial run (although a big part of the reason I winded up finding so much is because it took an eternity to get good enough at individual sections to do them all in one go between four mid-rings). I do plan to go back and search for the missing flower, but without spoiling anything more specific than the area, can I ask where in the level it's hiding? 6-S is seriously huge and somewhat exhausting without save states which I still don't feel right using, so the idea of combing over the entire map without knowing where the flower could be is kind of daunting. These are the four I have.
1. The one unveiled by a Green Glove in the first helicopter section.
2. The one in the optional room you enter by taking Super Mario through that very narrow lava tunnel.
3. The one gotten by freezing the Bullet Blaster in the sewer.
4. The one gotten by taking the brown chomp rock to the very end.
So what I'm asking is, which of the three 'main' areas would the missing one be in? The large maze, the sewer, or the rest of the level? I don't need anything super specific like 'the jungle screen'. I just want to preserve my sanity while searching.

Neither Castle Maze,
nor Sewer Maze.
It's somewhere else.
Well-hidden, but obvious at the same time.
You might have expected it where it is and you will be
annoyed at yourself for not getting it on the first run.
Have fun looking for it.

I started playing this hack and I have to say I like it, it's great.
I'm also posting because I have found some warp glitches. In 2-4 if you reenter in the pipe where the midpoint room was, and in 3-3 at the start when there is the bouncy ball if you jump and go on the left you end up on top of level 1.
Also is there a official complete solution or playthrought of the game? Because there is some levels where I can't complete at 100%, like 2-7 where I'm missing a flower and I have no idea where is it.

@yogui:
Thanks for playing it, also I'm glad you like the game so far.
The warp glitch in 2-4 is weird; does it happen in the pseudo 3D area in the first Midring room? To me, it doesn't happen (then again, I tested with the fixed version of the hack, so this might be fixed).
Also, the glitch in 3-3 is tricky to reproduce, but I will fix it, of course.
And no, there is no official playthrough so far, but I might make one, once the hack really is completed (it's released, yes, but I first wanted to fix all glitches, which appear, so I can release a "perfect" edition of the game).

See? Easy as that! ^^
Also, congratulations for completing the hack.
However, in the new version of it, Extra 2 is a complete new level, so you actually have to play that one, too (once I release the update).
But first, a way must be found to get Sprite 0x126 out of the game's memory faster without side effects, since it's causing some trouble...
(Also, reducing items from 27 to 10 would be nice without side effects, but not THAT necessary, since I've already recuded the power of some items.)
