I made a palette ExAnimation the same way I normally would, but it doesn't work when i play the game! It just stays on the first frame and doesn't animate. (the animation was for mario's palette btw) Any way to fix this?

You can't use exanimation to change Mario's palette as far I know. It's hardcoded.

Is there a way to get past the hardcode without ASM knowledge?
Only with this patch you can change Mario's palette in a level, though, I don't know if exanimation will work.
