I know it's highly unlikely to happen, but I always get the feeling that somebody with a sniper rifle has his sight on me whenever I'm at home, waiting to shoot me. Does anybody else get this feeling?

Well, it is something that you're probably a bit paranoid about, given the fact that it is incredibly unlikely there's a sniper out to get you.

Yeah, I think I get it from my grandma. She worries that teenagers will throw rocks at her head, and dogs will kill her. So that kind of explains why I worry about stuff like that.

Mental illnesses ARE hereditary, but they're also situational. You've got the paranoid branch of mild delusion, like your grandma. Ask your parents about it.

In all seriousness, I'm sure everyone has these deep rooted fears and moments of paranoia. Think the worst case scenario no matter what the situation. I tend to be like that from time to time.

It's not hereditary at all, only situational. It pretty much depends on how your childhood was and how your parents treated you; if you had paranoid parents then you might become paranoid because that's how they will educate you, not because it's on your genes or anything.

Yes a family guy refernce! Hahaha. Well one of my old friends use to be like this, because he had such high anxiety. I wouldn't blame him for the household he had to live in.

Not really getting shot by a sniper that I worry for, but sometimes I worry somebody's going to break into my apartment. Of course, that has not happened in the 17 months since I first moved out. It's just I'm worried that somebody may get in at a bad time, like when I'm in the shower.

I always get the feeling that someone is always standing behind me and about to grab my shoulders and scream.

A person obviously has a plan to kill everyone they meet. It may not be today, but it could be the next day, or the day after that, or the day after that, etc.
