What you want from Pokemon

Since I've started playing Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine, I've started to desire a Pokemon MMO. Really, think of the possibilities! Battling and trading with other people across the world, the ability to travel from one region to another, collecting all the Gym Badges, and getting all the Pokemon, with catching them as your real test, and training them as your cause! Being able to do all this on your quest to become a Pokemon Master would be awesome! There's so many things you could do! Why, the very idea brings tears of joy to my eyes!

From this, what else would you expect in a Pokemon MMO? Also, aside from that, what else from the Pokemon series would you like? Any ideas you've had would be good, really.
I want Gamefreak to hold a huge contest for generation 6. In this contest, people will submit their designs for Pokemon, the designs, names, types, basic stats and maybe even movesets. Gamefreak will pick 100 of the best entries and buy them off their creators so they can edit and balance the winners as necessary. These Pokemon will be entered into the game along with 50 from previous generations.

As for a Pokemon MMO, meh. I wouldn't be very interested.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: an actual main series Pokemon game on a console. It's open world, random encounters are gone, MOUNTS, the ability to challenge gyms in any order, and online play. Also maybe quests, coliseums, and the rest of the standard pokemon stuff.

Basically, Skyrim but with Pokemon.
Hoenn on 3DS.

Also a new battle sim for WiiU.

I think that would be the best pokemon game for me. I loved R/S/E so seeing it on the 3DS would make it the first pokemon game I've bought in like 9 years.
Things I would ask of Gamefreak:

- Pokemon trainers are supposed to be me, right? That's why they're silent, correct? Let me make my own trainer, then. Stop giving me this predefined look and only allowing me to choose name and gender. Adding lots of options and various accessories that could be found throughout the game could add an exponential level of appeal to the games and go a long way to personalizing Pokemon.

- Stop removing features that were in previous games and toting them as if they were new when you reintroduce them a few games later. HeartGold and SoulSilver had many awesome features that went missing for literally no reason when Black and White came around. There is no reason to remove features and use them as leverage to get money out of people a year or two down the road; you're the creators of Pokemon, for God's sake. I know you're more creative than that.

- The regional Pokedex is a blight on the entire running concept of Pokemon. Next time, give us a region with all 700+ Pokemon straight out of the gate of the starting town. Black and White handled its regional dex much better than previous games, but it still severely cuts into the team variety you can have before the endgame if you don't wish to trade.

- Remember in the anime when Brock said he wanted to be the world's best Pokemon breeder? Remember how May and Dawn seemed to care far more about contests than gym battles? How about multiple storylines for once? There should be more than one way to "beat" the game. Pokemon has great potential in this department. I love massacring gym leaders as much as the next person, but throw us something new that doesn't necessarily have to get rid of the core concept that has worked for so long.

- Take out most of the randomness and tedium associated with catching, breeding, and training Pokemon. I understand why it was made this way, but the truth is that it was already way random and taxing enough in the first couple of generations. Now we've got genders, IVs, EVs, abilities, natures, and egg moves to worry about and there's a LOT of time to be sunk into rolling the dice over and over to get the best Pokemon. There is a whole complicated metagame underneath the cute exterior of Pokemon, and removing this time and luck-based entrance barrier would encourage way more people to get into it, I would think.

Aaand that's all I can think of for now.

Five Pokedollars says they're on the way.
I want Keldeo and Meloetta to come out. That new movie poster suggests that they may come out soon.
Oh, and bring back the Wifi force level 100 6-on-6 battle. That's my only complaint on black/white.

Anything else I can complain about is just my opinion on competitive battling.
-Double or triple the rate at which EVs are trained.
-Remove IVs entirely, and remove the random base power of Hidden Power. Add a held item that changes the Hidden Power type for a bred Pokemon. I can deal with breeding for personalities, and training EVs, but IVs make it effectively impossible to breed Pokemon with ideal stats.
-Non-linear town progression. Perhaps there could be 16 gyms available, with split paths in the possible orders you could complete them. Trainer levels increase as you defeat more gym leaders.
-Like Mineyl said, add optional storylines for people interested in breeding or contests.
-For the love of Arceus, trainer customization.

A DARK GYM! We've had five regions and not one of them has had a gym leader specializing in dark types. THERE IS NO EXCUSE! And you know what else? Electric gyms are overused like f**k. So far, Johto is the only region without an electric gym.

This. So much this.
I have a Zindow region on a shelf above my PC but it doesn't list the types of the 16 gyms (I'll have to find it, should be somewhere). I remember the first five were Normal, Ground, Dark, Light and Flying(in order), the ninth was Ice, the last two were Glitch and Poison, and the three right before were Grass, Fire and Water and could be done in any order. Also, the elite four are Bug, Dragon, Steel and Awesome, and the Champion, Manny, uses Sawsbuck, Felglitch, Lanturn, Weavile, Charizard, and Medicham.

Also, I think Nintendo/Game Freak said somewhere there'll never be a Dark gym officially, and that every region will have an electric gym unless it connects to another region like Johto does.

I can't even take this seriously.

To make a real contribution, I'm one of those waiting for a Dark-type gym. Though I have to disagree with changing how EVs/IVs work, if only because I don't want to have to relearn that stuff all over again. (hell, I still don't really know much about IVs)
Honestly, I have a lot of things I want, but I'm only going to post two of them right now.

~ (This is competitively geared.) I am basically wishing for an ability that destroys Stealth Rock as an alternative to Rapid Spin, or maybe a decrease in Stealth Rock's effectiveness altogehter. The metagame has become almost centered on this move.

~Some more type combinations would be nice, especially for the Ghost and Fighting types. I'm still waiting on Ghost/Fighting, Fighting/Flying, and Electric/Fighting types.

IVs are pretty simple. They're a random value from 0 to 31 assigned to each of a Pokemon's stats that affects the high/low potential of the stat in question. Higher IVs = higher stats. They're almost completely random outside of a few recent mechanics that detract some of that randomness.

I myself am wishing for a change because IVs are a little -too- random for my tastes (in the first two generations, they only ranged from 0 to 15, which was a lot more fair, I think). I want EVs to go back to the old stat EXP system because EV acquisition is nonsensical and adds a lot of tedium outside of mindless grinding. Why does defeating a Pokemon that is fast improve my speed? Why does defeating a beefier Pokemon up my defense or HP? It's pretty silly.
- Like said before, Hoenn on 3DS
- The basic Pokemon in a region to have a overworld sprite, any rare-like Pokemon (rare and legendaries) to be random encounters. I know some may disagree but I think it'd be cool at least to try once.
- Pokemon to go back to how it worked in Gen 1 (Pokemon Red/Blue/Green/Yellow) instead of the new system. At least take some of the "concepts" and put it in, mixed with the new way damage works in battle.
- Actually make Pokemon for once after animals again, I really dislike the object Pokemon anymore which is why after Gen 3 I kinda think to myself was the end to the good Pokemon games, not so many object like Pokemon. (coughfreakingtrashbagcough)

edit: at last, yes I know in Gen 1-3 there were object-like Pokemon, not as many as lately though...

I just wanna say that you're basically judging an entire game based on the appearance of certain things in the game, which is incredibly shallow. Really, who the fuck cares if a Pokemon based off of a trash bag is ugly? What do you want it to look like, a fucking angel? It's a trash bag. No offense, but I really hate people who stopped playing Pokemon for some stupid reason (ugly Pokemon, it's for kids, etc.). To me, Gen V is the best one yet, but because some people can't get over the fact that there are some ugly Pokemon, they disregarded it immediately. Whatever, you're the one missing out.

Now what I'd like from Pokemon is for all the people who stopped playing because of a stupid reason to give the newer games a chance.

I agree with what he said about Pokemon being animals. While I still play the new games, all six of my Pokemon are based off of animals. Pokemon like Klink, Vanillite, and (god forbid) Garbodor just don't appeal to me as much as Pokemon like Serperior or Krookodile.
The only thing I really want from Pokemon is something interesting. The basic concept has stayed for (almost) fifteen years, and somehow I've kept falling for it. I really want something original to come from the series, instead of a new version of what you've been playing since 1998.

Actually, there's a (spanish?) version of FR/LG called Pokémon Bluesea (on cartridge) that has a Dark gym, although I think it's a hacked version of the game because it's really messed up on certain aspects. I remember getting it and playing it, but it was so unappealing that I laid it aside, and I haven't played it since. The English translation was pretty bad as well.
It's most likely a hacked version. It's not too uncommon, really.
