Hi there! I recently got back into Mario editing and started to work on a level. I am going to use a custom background for it but I am having trouble with using the new LM 1.91 tools.
I go through the process that I can remember:
-Insert the ExGFX
-Import Map16 file into the BG bank 0 (In this case, page 45)
-This ExGFX came with a sample level which I open and save to the ROM. I then correct the ExGFX slot to the one I am using.
Now from what I can remember (About a year ago) I should now see a display of the assembled bg that I can happily copy and paste into my own level. However what I keep seeing is this beauty:

I tried searching and the only thing I thought might be the issue is the adding offset to bg tiles function (f9 on bg editor) but that doesn't seem to do anything as since I am on page 45 I choose to add 500 to no avail.
I don't know if I am missing something from not hacking for a long time or something changed in the new version of LM but I am just completely stuck with this! Thanks for any assistance.

Check which page the glitched background tiles come from, and then add an offset to them (but not the blank ones, since those appear to be tiles from one of the default background pages) so that they match up with the page you inserted your tiles on.

What do ya know! I get a reply from YCZ and suddenly my problems just melted away hah. I am guessing the issue was from the sample level using a different page? It turned out the glitched tiles were from page 42, so I added 300 and then I got my BG all happy and non-ugly!
Thanks so much for the reply, and my apologies for the large image embed. Should have thought to give a direct link rather than stretch the table to infinity.
