Somewhat of a random thread topic but it got me kind of curious about what kind of beds you all sleep on or have to deal with.

For a long time now I've dealt with this terrible old spring mattress that was getting as bad as having some springs poke out and cause problems. TODAY I FINALLY GOT A NEW ONE THAT IS REALLY FREAKING AMAZING. So I'll be enjoying a bed for the first time in ever. Good bye pain. Sleeping on the couch was better than my old bed and it swallowed you whole.

Anywho, what kind of bed to you have or prefer? Does your bed currently give you problems sleeping? Do you like the bed firm or really soft? Tell us all below!
I sleep on a loft bed with a desk below it. The bed has a regular mattress underneath a memory foam topper and pillow. It's actually a pretty nice bed to sleep in for something that I got in elementary school probably a decade ago (I still even have the same mattress, probably due to the aforementioned topper). I rest well enough on it, and if I do have trouble waking up or falling asleep, it tends to be due to issues beyond the bed.
I sleep on a couch because I'm too poor to afford a decent bed. It gets the job done, and it's actually pretty comfortable I guess.

I also still use a "Finding Nemo" pillow I made about 10 years ago. Psh.

I have a nice comfy bed I can knock out and enjoy wet dreams on.

I'm glad you were able to upgrade your bed. Bad back pain can add up and become quite a liability.

A nice bed with two big titties as pillows.

...or a Therapedic. Whichever's more viable.
It may be a pain in the ass some times, but damn I love my bed! I know sometimes I complain about it a lot, but whenever I even touch my bed, I drift off into dreamland =D My bed is pretty firm, but with a touch of soft. The only thing I would really want is a longer bed =/
My bed is a spring mattress that sits on the floor rather than on a frame. This is to improve safety, since I have been known to cut myself on the frame a few times, and I would sometimes move the bed looking for stuff, and the frame might slice against the bottom of the mattress. The bed sits right below a ceiling fan. For some reason I NEED the fan on in order to sleep well, even during cold weather (I just sleep all bundled up because if the fan's not on, then I just get too hot). I use my unzipped hooded jacket as a pseudo-sheet, and my bed happens to be right next to the vent.
My bed is a settee. It just broke down because of certain people that sitted on it, so, I'm forced to lie on the floor.
I have one mattress, three blankets (two of which I don't use most of the time) and two pillows on top of eachother for a bed. No frame, 'cuz frames are for squares. My mattress just lies on the floor.

For extra comfort and accessibility, I put underwear I'm not going to use again underneath my pillows. When I have no clean underwear left, and I don't want to do laundry, but I need another pair of underwear, I just steal a pair from under my pillows and I'm set.

The only thing I don't like about my bed is that I'm taller than it is long. Also maybe I should get a second mattress.
I really would like to have my parent's bed: when i sleep there i go on a complete standby. But i like my bed too: especially when i, yesterday, was tired as heck after camping.

I like even the sleeping bag on the bed, btw.
I have a standard bed, so to speak: I sleep about half a meter above the ground, the matrass being situated right on top of an aluminium (it could be steel too, but I'm guessing it's not) frame. The bed's size is about 90*190cm (so it's a one-person bed).
I have a double bed all to myself. It's very comfortable, and I have a lot of room to stretch out into the other side of the bed (as I sleep on one side or the other, not in the middle). The side I sleep on depends on the day of the week. If it's a school night, I sleep on the side nearest the alarm clock so I can turn off the alarm clock when it goes off. If it's a non-school night, I sleep on the side furthest away from the alarm clock because I don't have to turn it off. This also means that I know from as soon as I wake up whether or not I have school. (even though one morning the week before last I woke up on a Sunday thinking it was Monday. I only realized it was Sunday when I looked at my clock and thought "Why am I still in bed at 9:00AM on a Monday?" and also nobody was telling me to get up)
After last night, I can clearly say I've never slept better. Although I slept in a bit much; not waking up until 9AM, even though I was up around 6AM. The bed is one of those foam types that feels so good. I am not sure if it is more firm or soft but eh, it is an improvement I've been waiting for.

I've also been told that it is best to sleep with your head as level as possible to the actual bed rather than sleep propped up as that could cause back problems. So I am trying to sleep a bit differently. I am too used to sleeping propped up- although maybe that is another source of some of my soreness.

Well, a bed is a nice thing really. This is what I noticed from my experiences:

I wake up at 7:30 and find it a little early... I promise myself to sleep for 5 minutes, and I wake up at 8:30.
I am at school at 14:30 and find it a little boring... I promise myself to "sleep" for 5 minutes, and I "wake up" at 14:31.

Beds are great, but very dangerous for that reason - if you fall back in sleep again, you're screwed. The fact that I live in a quiet forest area doesn't help either.
I sleep on the floor every night in my room because the bed is too small, not to mention it's cluttered with all my useless junk.
I sleep on a bunk bed, with the bottom bunk removed and drawers and stuff underneath to increase room space. It's got 3 - 4 blankets on it, sheets, 2 normal pillows, a throw pillow with flames on it, my old Pikachu pillow, and then 3 blankets hanging off the side that I take elsewhere in the house. Sometimes there's the downside of being too tired to climb up the ladder, that can be a pain, but it's pretty comfy and secure with the high raised bars to prevent roll-outs.

I used to sleep on a bed that was in a frame, but due to a bedbug problem (which will be over very soon), we had to remove the frame because that's where they were living. After that, my bed was on the floor, but once my mom got enough money to buy new beds, I got an air mattress, since that's easy to treat for bedbugs. It's barely wide enough to hold me (I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night because I'm on the edge and close to falling off), and it's only long enough to hold up my legs (my feet dangle in the air), but other than that, it's pretty good. I can even adjust it for different firmness or softness because it has a built in pump that's pretty easy to use! I plug it in, flip a switch, and it inflates! Hell, if I wanted to, I could completely deflate it and put it in my closet...

Also the exterminators are coming this week to finish getting rid of the bedbugs. I'm glad, because they bite worse than mosquitoes.
At home I have a twin bed, which uses two fairly comfortable spring mattresses. One or two pillows combined with a sheet, a comforter and maybe a blanket and I'm set.

However, since I live at the residence at my university, I also sleep on a fairly thin, stiff mattress in a wooden bed frame. It's extremely stiff by itself; thankfully I added a 3' duvet on top of the mattress to make it a little more comfier. The bed pales in comparison to my mattresses at home, but it's manageable for the most part.
I like beds that are a bit firm so I can get out of them easily. I have an electric bed for old people, it sits up the body & the legs. I've got it in this video game review I failed back in 2009:

My bed is a Full Set that I've had for about 8-9 years now. It's very easy to sleep in, especially when I'm extremely tired. I have a foaming sheet underneath my mattress. I also use two plush blankets and a comforter to sleep in.
