A new SNES game is coming out in 2013, called Nightmare Busters. Yes, it's an actual cartridge, and it costs $68 to preorder.
More info here. Whodathunk?

Not the most surprising thing. I've seen a lot of people create homebrew games and make them in carts for older systems. Take RetroZone, for example. They have created quite a few nes games within the last 5 or so years.

What? No PAL version? Well fuck. Bet you about 1000 LPs of it will come out right after release. Bet you someone will also dump a ROM within a week of release.

Holy shit that's a lot of money.
A awful lot for a SNES game.

Yeah, but think for a second
Modern Games Now-a-days don't deliver the same epic video game experience as a 16-bit SNES game can.
And what's wrong with the Price? Although too demanding
I guess people are desperate to re-live their own Childhood
This is great for stubborn Parents un-satisfied with working their whole lives
Play some SNES video game and first-witness the Nostagalic-ness

Well, it's still far too expensive. If they wanted to relive their experience on the SNES they'd buy new games. Or, they could play a new game meant to emulate the retro feel of games.

Amazing! I can't think people are willing to continue games for SNES...
Also the price...WTF!? I'll value it $0,01....but maybe I'm wrong, because the creators may have lots of difficults to make it, who knows...

There's nothing unusual about the price; when DKC first came out, it was priced between $60 and $90, depending on where you bought it.

Because any memory, let alone Flash, was expensive as fuck at that time. Now 2 GB modules are dirt cheap.

Yes, it may be like games of the era, but it doesn't fly when games that cost $10 can have persumably much more content.

Very interesting. But for $68, I'm not getting it. With the inevitability that someone's gonna dump a ROM shortly after release, I might go for that, if it looks interesting. Either way, unless they bring down the price to something reasonable, Super Fighter Team is not getting my money.

That's entirely untrue. Memory is just as cheap for the new CoD game, but it costs $60. As is the way it is usually done, they are selling the game, not the packaging, it's why buying from steam and buying a physical copy generally costs more or less the same.

A new game on SNES? dang, I didn't think they'd make games on older systems today!

Memory was expensive back then, CoD is expensive because of supply/demand.
Remember, games were $60 back then, but before inflation.

Homebrew games have been coming out forever. Why's this one getting publicity?

My exact thought on the whole matter. Maybe it's because it's being released on an SNES cart?

Eh...so can anyone explain exactly HOW are they releasing a homebrew SNES game on a cartridge and selling it legally?
