Hey, some of you might remember me from my last hack; The Next Generation. Well... it sucked. I also deleted all the files for it a long time ago.

"MB: QftGM" is my third hack, my second had never even been shown to the public before I lost all of its files, so here we are.

Plot: Once upon a ti... wait. You probably were able to guess it just by the name. Blah, blah, blah, Mario and Luigi arrive on a mysterious island after hearing about the "Legend of the Golden Mushroom". Difficulty follows.

Screenshots!
Beginning

Title Screen, still in the works.

Beginning cutscene, thinking of re-doing.

Mario and Luigi's new house.
Benigant Beginning

"Just killed a Koopa, what of it?"

*inhales extremely deep breath* "yay".

"Climbing a vine, 'nuff said.
Aerial Alpines

Luigi can kill Goombas too.

Luigi: "Don't look down...."

Koopa: "OH MY GOD."

Passing a midpoint... "Sparkle, sparkle."

Receiving 8000 points for getting a powerup.

Climbing up walls like a pro.
Pasture Perplex

Gotta grab them coins.

...stupid Rex.

Now how do I get into that pipe?

OH GLORIOUS FIRE FLOWER.

No need to worry, that flower will be removed.

Incoming shell!

...suicide Koopa?

Credits
-Will be added eventually....

Looks good, but redrawn man? Ok it's fine, but this NSMB Mario and the redrawned BGs gimme an extremely bad feeling for some reason. The house graphics clash with the redrawn. And, I think it misses enemies... But I like so much this hills BG, specially on the fourth screen, gimme a great feeling for some reason. What.

Anyways, you're making a good hack, keep it up!

Eh... You know about the priority enabling when Mario enters/exits a pipe, right?
Looks very good, the redrawn graphics are awesome, I can't found anything wrong in these screenshots.

Keep up the good job.
This hack looks nice. Can't wait to find what's more in this hack!

Well, I've BEEN thinking of changing my graphic choices... but I'm currently working on finding the authors of the graphics/sprites/blocks/etc....
Update!
Things changed~
-Made my own title screen graphics.
-Reworked the Overworld.
-Fix some level bugs. (Thanks for that one, Austin.)
-Changed Title Screen graphics altogether.

Here, have some Screenshots.

The first submap. Unsure of what to name it.

Preview of the second submap, a desert themed one, bound to be changed in even the slightest way.

Design of the OWs look good but I don't like the palettes and the GFX that much ;D
Palettes? Do you have any suggestions on what to change, palette wise?

Probably it isn't the palette. Probably the Ow isn't shaded that good :S
It is just 1 color...
It looks a little bit odd.
The first submap looks pretty good, but the second one is a bit strange...
The level layout look pretty good, also, you could improve the overworld pallete to make it much better.
The phrase 'Nothing to light the world on fire' wouldn't be such a stretch of the imagination to agree with here. You're not doing anything wrong, and for that I applaud you - but there's nothing here to make me outright leap from my comfortable chair to yelp the appreciative excitement that would be "I really want to play this!". Long story short, keep at it, I'd like to see how this progresses.

Into the nitty gritty here, the overworld is a darn sight finer than a few I've come across but perhaps if the paths between levels weren't just straight it'd look far more natural.

With that, I bid you farewell!

Working on it, don't worry.

Actually, that wasn't something I had even considered, I'll see what I can do, for now.

You're welcome...

About the OWs,

I really recommend you to use more than one palette. Also the OWs are a little squared IMO. You're abusing of the tile 0 from the 8x8 editor. Could be fine if you use tiles 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 45, 46, 47, 48, etc. sometimes, if you can understand me. Also, you'll yet put the decorations, yep?

Of course. The overworld is not even close to done! Things are subject to change, if its suggested.
Very interesting OW design, I didn't like the palettes very much but overall it looks good.

You could name the first OW to: Syrup Valley
And the desert you could name: Vulture's Desert.

You know, I might consider this. Alright, here's a very little demo of hack so far. I am currently working on the next level, I just haven't inserted it, yet.

Edit: Things to note;
-Stomped Goomba graphics not inserted yet.
-The Status Bar will be updated very soon.

Unfortunatelly, your level design is looking flat for me. The levels have the same GFXs and the same music, and it's really boring. And the levels miss enemies, decoration, inovation and stuff. You wanna improve this.

:V

Also things to fix:

I like the title screen, although the menu overwrites it.

You forgot to remove the priority of the last grass tile lol :P

Blind jump.

This is a bad idea for a trap IMO.

Level started now and this is already the midway point. Short level man.

Minor bug on the OW. Just letting you know.

Did you noticed this trap?

Time up! Wait WTF.

I think there are more bugs, but I don't have enough time to show/explain it.

Rather Small Update!
-Squished Goomba graphics finally made!

KA-POW!
-Some bugs fixed (Minor and Major!)
-Levels edited to be more...interesting?

EDIT: ...and I guess I should mention the change Status Bar Graphics...

The Edit has been doubled!!

Sigh... double post?

Anyways, I decided I didn't like my old version of it all too well, so I remade my desert submap;

Not sure why, but I like this one a lot better.

Also, should I make the cacti darker? They seem a little too...cartoon-ish for my liking, that and it clashes with my current GFX choice.
