| Tip: Layer 3 backgrounds and tides disappear when you hit a message box, so plan your level around that. For example, you can add a sublevel without layer 3 at the start/midpoint, and include your message there. |

Does anyone have code to make the Koopa Paratroopa hurt you when stomped, like a Spiny. It would also turn into a regular Spiny upon spinning your cape at it, rather than an upside-down shell. (I'll change the Paratroopa to a Para-Spiny myself.)

I think you've got to make a new custom sprite for that, or just edit its disassembly, although, I think there's not one...

A tweaker edit would make them not able to be jumped on. Dunno if it'd affect the normal koopas too, though (probably).
As for turning into a spiny, that'll require a custom sprite or an extensive edit to the sprite's code (IE, a patch).

If you're asking about how to have a custom parakoopa sprite that will hurt you upon jumping on it, I would say:
Download one of the parakoopa disassemblies and place it in your sprites folder.
Use a cfg editor in spritetool and uncheck the "can be jumped on" and "killed when Jumped on" properties. That should make it hurt you as a spiny would.
