I have been experiencing some problems with my hacking ill start out with making the custom graphics when I exract the graphics using joined GFX files I open it up with yy-chr (v.0.98)couldnt under stand the weird language of v. 0.99 and ready the palettes I edit it once done i save it the GFX are in the specified grahics foldernin the same directory as the rom when i reinsert at any time even when thier not joined ExGFX or GFX itsaysb thier never stored in 4BPP format? any solutons or problems that i could fix?
One contiguous sentence is a bit difficult to read, by the way.

The "weird language" is japanese, and you probably don't have the font installed. There are english versions floating around on the web, look for one.

As for the 4BPP thing, extract the regular graphics from the ROM and immediately reinsert. It should give you a popup asking to convert to 4bpp; hit yes. Then insert your modified graphics, and it should work.
I did that and the pop-up that says thier not stored in 4BPP format still pops up every time i immediatly re-insert them. I really did something wrong!#w{:s}

3. file, graphics, insert gfx to rom: make sure both boxes are checked, then press OK. Shiuld be fixed?

Why not? I use them and I'm A-OK.
I tried and followed every step no matter what it will not work!
Well, Roads1, it's my opinion. plus, it's more convenient to be able to open individual graphics files, modifying them as separate entities, instead of lumping them together into one long panel of meaninglessness. I guess every thing has benefits and disadvantages.

Hackerboy67, are you sure you're using the US version of Mario World? Check here. If not, put your IPS in your file bin and PM it to me. If you don't know how to do that, well, noobs are noobs. I might be able to teach you.

If I understand what you're saying, I've had this problem before.

Extract the graphics and then reinsert them. When the message box appears asking you whatever, press the YES button. Then insert your custom graphics- you know, the one you changed yourself.

The strange language would be, as stated, japanese.

Change the name of the file "yychr.JPN" to "yychr.ENU" for english.
More information is provided in the "yychr_language" file if you need a different language.

link Heres the unfinished copy of my hack if you an fix the graphic problem PM me and tell exactly how you did it i would appreciate it. Thanks!
What graphic problem? 4bpp graphics isn't going to fix cutoff or broken palettes. Plus, what custom gfx do you have?
No what happens sometimes is whenever i insert them as 3BPP format they literally screw up every single graphic in the game so when that message appears after i extract them and reinset them im sacared thati will screw up the GFX
I think you must extract the GFX from a clean rom, insert it in your ROM.
Extract GFX from a non-corrupt 3bpp rom, then insert them as 4bpp. Make absolutely sure to install the asm hack, then try inserting a second time if the gfx are corrupt.
Thanks it finally worked #w{=)} im also working on a new hack!!
