It's about Pokemon here.
Let's start with.
Who'syour favorite Gym Leaders?

Mine are:
Kanto: Misty, Giovanni
-Misty seems to be serious in game than in anime and because of her design in HGSS.
-Giovanni is a pimp. Lol.

Johto: Morty, Whitney, Clair
-Morty looks really high. Awesome attitude.
-Whitney's Miltank beat the crap out of everyone. Making the game more harder.
-Clair is stubborn. She doesn't accept defeat. Look at her thighs. Mmm.

Hoenn: Wattson, Flannery, Tate and Liza
-Watttson seems to be jovial man. He always laughs even he is defeated.
-Flannery, she is HOT. That's all.
-Tate and Liza, the mystic combination. Beat thousands of Blazikens.

Sinnoh: Volkner
-Really emo guy.

Unova: Chili, Elesa, Skyla
-Chili looks really impatient, just like Barry.
-Elesa and Skyla, sexiest Gym Leaders ever.

Like my avatar?
I have this really, really weird feeling in the back of my head that this thread is not going to go well.

I'd say the best Pokemon game thus far is Pokemon White/Black, considering how much of a different game it actually feels compared to all the other Pokemon sequels while still maintaining its status as a Pokemon game, not detaching itself too much from the normal formula. I however, feel that Pokemon games should detach themselves from the norm more often, having an actual story and mixing up the normal gameplay to something more interesting. A Pokemon game with much faster paced battle system would be nice. Perhaps removing the restriction of a movement grid on the over world map.

Any one agree or have other thoughts?
1. Gold/Silver/Crystal
2. Black/White
3. Red/Blue/Yellow
4. Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
5. Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald

That is all I have to say on the matter.

There's something seriously wrong here...
Actually BW would be on first place for me, followed by GSC, then RBY, DPP and - last and by far least - RSE.

As for the Gym Leader, Elesa.
Alright, let me go into greater detail.

1. Gold, Silver, and Crystal. First, this is the first game in the series I played (Crystal in particular) so it ends up getting a nostalgia bonus. However, it wins because of the content it has, both in the original and in the remake. This is the only generation to have more than eight gyms and consist of two regions. It's also the only one that's a "chronological sequel". It's the only one to introduce new types to balance all of them out (for those who don't know, Psychic was incredibly unbalanced in 1st gen) and split special into Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense. It introduced the PokeGear, which had some form every generation afterwards. On top of that, the majority of the Pokemon look fantastic (Heracross, Sneasel, Umbreon, Scizor, and Totodile come to mind) as well as diverse for their time. My only complaint is the difficulty, in that it's much easier than the other games; the highest level in the Elite 4 (including the champion) is 50, and there are no trainers in Victory Road at all.

I'll also mention the remakes, which greatly improved the game. It gave us a Safari Zone that was incredibly customizable, much more content in Kanto, and the additions from Diamond/Pearl. The difficulty was fixed as well. Although, the PokeWalker was a silly idea.

2. Black and White. To me, this is the prime example of what a Pokemon sequel is supposed to do: take the original concept, and update it dramatically. While a lot of older players have and will whine about the lack of previous gen Pokemon until endgame, but that's the point; it lets you get an unbiased look at the new Pokemon. Furthermore, the story was much more thought out than the previous generations, in that the villains are much more intelligent. Sure grunts will be grunts, but the leader is much more sophisticated and has a much more thought-out plan. Along with that, your rivals, the gym leaders, and other NPCs are much more interactive than other games. Plus it's the first game to interact with an actual website, along quite a few other multiplayer modes. This game does lack post-game material, though, with a lack of a battle frontier and safari zone and a lack of refighting trainers (minus a select few). Still, it's all good fun.

3. Red, Blue, and Yellow. Kind of odd to put the first ever Pokemon games in third, but it suffers from first-game problems. Mainly a severely limiting item box, lack of post-game content, a myriad of glitches, unbalanced typing, and slower gameplay. Still, there's a lot to love in this game. All the Pokemon are memorable, the major NPCs are memorable, and the glitches can be entertaining to encounter. (MissingNo. anyone?) It pretty much set the standard for all games to follow and is usually the game people refer to when they say "Have you played Pokemon?" That, and it had the best anime series. :V

As for the remakes, they're okay as well. The edition of the Sevii Islands is nice, all the glitches are gone, and the game mechanics have been improved, but the overall experience feels the same.

4. Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. This is one of the more boring games in the series. You had a bad guy with a ridiculous goal (HERP DERP GONNA MAKE A NEW GALAXY ONLY IN POKEMON), quite a few uninteresting Pokemon, and now the fact that Black and White did the same style so much better without going on a different system. What saves this game from being last are the gameplay changes; quite simply, next to GSC, this game has the best. Most importantly, we get online play. This is a huge improvement to the series, as now you didn't have to connect locally to play with someone else. Along with that, you get compatibility with Gen 3 games via Pal Park (as long as you have a DS or DS Lite), the physical/special split, an unlimited bag, and the Underground.

5. Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. While the DPPt had many new, important features, sadly I find little to enjoy in this game. The pokemon, for the most part, are bland, the villains are so mind-numbing I can't take the plot seriously, and there's not too much this generation added other than new DV mechanics and wireless gameplay. (once the RBY remakes came out) While I don't hate this game, I consider it the least fun generation of the Pokemon series.
1.) Diamond/Pearl/Platinum: Honestly, my favorite of the series. It introduced a new physical/special attack system that works better. It has a lot of my favorite pokémon, as well as giving some new needed evolutions. And it introduces 42 extra TM Slots, while having the best TM movelist. As well as the VS Seeker which makes training a lot easier. I also liked Sinnoh in general. I thought it was a very vibrant community. Platinum adds 59 more Pokémon to the regional dex before you get the National Dex. And the best part is the Pokétch feature.
Favorite Gym Leaders: I would say Volkner, because of how tough and cool he is. I also liked Byron, since he's also tough-looking and he's the father of one of the gym leaders.

2.) Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald: Probably the best region in the game because of it's environment, Fortree City especially. It had the Trick Tent, that one guy in Mauville PokéCenter and many new cool Pokémon. I thought Team Aqua/Magma were the weakest villains in the series so far, but I liked how you fought them in different versions. I also liked how their story differed.
Favorite Gym Leaders: Definitely Norman, since he's the protagonist's father, the first in the series. I also liked Wallace and Winona. And Juan did well taking Wallace's place.

3.) Black/White: I didn't like how the major trainers were set up in terms of levels. Plus the last gym leaders were weak. But still, it has an impressive list of new Pokémon. The new mechanics worked nicely here. And the fact that the protagonist is supposed to be older makes it feel like it's going for a slightly older audience. And it's get the best story so far.
Favorite Gym Leaders: Definitely the Striaton City Gym leaders, Cilan, Chili and Cress. I liked the concept of their gym. And even my avatar is based off of Chili in case you couldn't tell. I also like Brycen and Clay because of their calm and stern attitude. They really show their true strength when confronting Team Plasma.

4.) Gold/Silver/Crystal: I didn't care for Johto since I thought the gym leaders were too underleveled. Some were tough though. I liked that they introduced 100 new Pokémon on top of the original 150 with evolutions to them. And they made the types more balanced. I also liked how you visit Kanto later in the game.
Favorite Gym Leaders: Probably Chuck because of his hot-blooded personality. I liked Jasmine too, since you help her with a sick Ampharos.

5.) Red/Blue/Yellow: Don't get me wrong, I still play the original Red and Blue. It's just that Kanto is my least favorite region. I just think the other regions overshadow this one. Still it's the one that started it all. And while the game mechanics were very broken in the original, it's still an adventure for the ages. And it was the most simple of the series. And it had Team Rocket and Gary Oak.
Favorite Gym Leaders: Brock, considering how you bond with them through the anime.
Yeah, that's another thing about Black/White. The first couple gym leaders provide a good amount of challenge (numbers 2 and 4 in particular), it gets really easy by the end. And while it was cool to be able to choose which Elite 4 member you could fight in whatever order, any difficulty after the first one is decreased since all the levels are the same.
