Tip: When you're about to release your hack, make a patch first, patch it to a clean ROM, and then test that. This way, you are testing both the hack AND the patch.

I'm really confused by this, why is there eight bytes for the 4 graphic modes.

Code
; walking frame 1, walking frame 2, squished, star-killed Tilemap: db $0A,$00,$0E,$00,$0C,$00,$0A,$00 HorizDisp: db $00,$FF,$00,$FF,$00,$08,$00,$FF VertDisp: db $00,$FF,$00,$FF,$08,$08,$00,$FF TileProps: db $05,$00,$05,$00,$00,$40,$05,$00 TileSize: db $02,$FF,$02,$FF,$00,$00,$02,$FF TilesToDraw: db $00,$00,$01,$00 XSpeed: db $08,$F8 KilledXSpeed: db $10,$F0
Because the squished frame uses 2 tiles. The others don't, so the second, fourth, and eighth byte in the table are unused.
