Angry Birds has been getting popular since it's release and many spin-off and sequel Titles.
Related-Clothes, Toys & Accessories are seen in every mall...
I remember reading online on "MSN" that Angry Birds is growing popular as Mario;
Maybe even more popular than Mario!
I played Angry Birds before; It's a Good Game; But I'd play...only once in a full moon to be honest...
I practically play a Mario game once a Week...
Kids now-a-days know Angry Birds more than Mickey Mouse...
Same with Mario...every kid knows him...
What do you Guys think about the Popularity of Angry Birds?
Is it satisfying? or Overrated?
Do you think Angry Birds will ever overthrow Mario by Popularity?

I'm afraid it might, because Mario is getting old. Let's pray that Mario doesn't ever fall out of popularity.

I disagree. Whereas Mario is a complete franchise complete with a buttload of games, along with a few tv shows and a movie plus way more merchandise than Angry Birds, whereas Angry Birds is a simple little "mini-game" of sorts; it's mostly seen on mobile devices, anyway. Angry Birds is pretty much just a fad passing by, albeit a large one.

Really?
Angry birds is just a fun casual cellphone game, and Mario is a freaking huge franchise, like Derpy Backslide said. They are nowhere near as popular/fun as Mario.
Plus, Mario games are really original, and bring something new with every release they make. Angry Birds is just a strategy game. You can't really compare Angry Birds with Mario.
It's like saying Tetris might overthrow Mario.

Angry Birds is just popular just because it's on an Apple device. There are millions and millions of similar flash games that are way better too.

That "Casual Cell Phone" game is on Iphones, Android & other devices
It has flash game online and it has an offical Google Chrome App and Facebook Flash Game...
I see more people wearing Angry Birds shirts than Mario clothes at my school
I know Mario will never be overthrown by a Game about a Group of some Pissed-off Birds...
Angry Birds isn't fun, it's addicting lol

Pretty much what I meant by it's mostly seen on mobile devices. It's just an app spread through multiple phones and social networking sites and nothing more.

Again, it's because it's a fad more or less. It's current and incredibly popular right now, but that lasting appeal will disappear eventually. Mario, on the other hand, will continue to come out with games for a long time and won't die out until even longer.

Just a few weeks back, here in Mexico, PepsiCo did a massive ad campaign for angry birds, so everything soda, chip bags, cookies and more had angry birds shit in side them (pogs, stickers, etc). After this, my own little brother became obsessive about it and I'm sure many other little kids too. And I've seen a couple of angry birds hats and sweaters in high school too. This pretty much means that it has a bigger appeal to teenagers too.
I can conclude that, due to it's more mainstream appeal, way much more simple gameplay and cheap price, it has become the more popular than Mario games (since you can only find Mario games on a Nintendo console, and for 40-50 dollars. It's also too hard for casuals, I don't think my sister even knows there's a run button).
As for my personal view on angry birds: I don't like it. You really just throw the birds and hope you get the better score. And that's just about it for every other level. Mario, on the other hand, just has more things to explore and discover. And it just has more variety overall.

Sorry, I didn't focus right on reading everyone's opinion on this Thread
Just MaxoDex who I was responding to...lol
But yeah, I'm glad we're on the right page.

True, there's no Arguing with your Opinion...
I don't really think about the Perspectives of the Games
Where as Angry Birds - yah toss some Birds
And Mario - Italian Pllumber saving his Girl from a Huge Turtle
And I think Angry Birds SEEMS POPULAR because I'm defenitely sure it doesn't cost much to fringment or sell Accesories referring to Angry Birds...
And I think it cost alot of $$ to sell stuff from Mario Games...
So I guess that explains the popularity of the games.

Actually, I don't think Angry Birds is as popular anymore. It got less popular very quickly. I remember back in August when it was really popular.

I think the only reason Angry Birds is so popular is because it's free to play (unless you're an Apple user). In all honesty, I doubt I'd be willing to pay £20-30 for an Angry Birds title whereas I would for a Mario title.

He became obsessive because he saw everyone wearing those clothes so he thought it would be cool to wear them too. I don't think Mario would lose popularity just because some other really simple and random free game is becoming famous too.
Angry Birds will just be forgotten after it.

Time will tell. Definitely going down in gaming history, though. Maybe as a footnote fad, maybe as a herald of "casual gaming."

I haven't heard of a single person who doesn't know Mario. I'd say they're just about the same popularity.

Angry Birds is popular because it targets a niche market, ie those with cellphones, tablets or any other technology capable of playing the game. To compare Mario with Angry Birds is like comparing apples and oranges. Although they're both fruit(/games), they're both completely different and people will always prefer one over the other.

I don't think it's that popular anymore. It's ok, I have Original, Rio and Seasons on my PC(trial versions, though...), BUT....
...Mario all the way!

Angry birds isn't that popular IMO. I tried it and i am sure that Mario always will be better than these flash games.

Seriously?
You're comparing Mario.... To Angry Birds....
How can you even compare such different games?
