Briefly stated,

Glad I could be a part of this community. Just recently, I realized how immense this group of people here are, mods and regs alike.

Most of you have awesome talents with creativity, editing, tastes in lifestyle, and a bunch of other things that make most of you awesome.

Wanted to just say...appreciate you guys so far. SMWC has managed to prosper over the years, and that cant usually be said about most organizations.

Thank you SMWC for being awesome. To progress!
Agreed. Throughout my time here, I've changed a lot thanks to this site. I've met a lot of awesome people and some good friends. This is a home for me because this place means so much. Thank you to all those who made this site the way it is. May it live for a very long time!
Also agreed with above posts. I've met a lot of cool people with lots of creativity, and this place is very nice. I'm pretty glad that I could be a part of the community. Thanks for this, everyone! :)

Maybe for better, maybe for worse, this site has changed me, matured me. When i used to go on IRC, you guys wierded me out but showed me your true sides, and taught me how to interact with other people. Also making me speak way better english, back in 7th grade i winged an in-class essay on a book we read which i didn't pay attention to, and got a 4- on it.

TL;DR; You guys saved my life. I'm not kidding.
Aww internet group hug.
I have this site to thank for me becoming a brony. *hugs*

I also appreciate how willing people are to work together and help out on projects.
Thanks SMWC for the available stuff and for the funny forums you have.

That's all.
Pretty much everyone has said. This site has changed me for good. I am more mature that I used to be, I grew as a hacker and I grew as a person.

Thanks guys. You seriously rock.
Thanks for existing SMWC. Had you not existed I may not have at this moment.

Oh yeah. *insert stuff about maturing and such*
Sagitaire really made a good point about this thread; I have to thank not only him, but this entire community for making me into the person I am today--that, and my own site. Really, without those two sites, I'd not have learned how to be a real leader, and a real man, and nut up and get things done that need to be done. I dunno how active I'm going to be this time around versus the last time, but I'm pretty sure I'm still going to be coming and going (haha Robin Williams joke) and making some random posts here and there. Also without this site...well...I'd still be jobless and single. Funny how that works!

This site really has a way of changing people, for better, for worse, or for whatever.
Honestly, this site has pushed me to not give up so easily on trying to learn something new. The whole process of learning how to hack was quite an experience I'm glad I went through: from that I learned that I'm a bit more persistent then I thought. I also learned to speak my mind or share my opinions more instead of just lurking around staying in the background; not just here but in real life as well. Also I met some really cool people here that I can consider friends.

So yeah, thanks for existing SMWC.
Although I have only been here for 1 and a half months, I have realized how nice everyone is here, and how they are willing to help you with any problem.

We help in any way we can, within the limits the internet allows be they legal or not--we prefer legal. Mostly we listen and provide advice, and that's help that makes everybody happy in the end.

Oh, almost forgot! Side thought time! The other thing I learned from here is that dogs have feelings too and also they talk like people a whole bunch of common sense. Over the past few days, I have been tempted to ask pointless questions somewhere, and then I was like "Wait, I could just look around, OH HERE'S WHAT I NEED!" So...in short, this site taught me to leave staff members alone...I guess?
Ever since my involvement in the SMWCP2 project, I've come to know the community a lot better. I started out about 25 months ago, though I only had about <60 posts until I got a SMWCP2 level. Now, I'm on here pretty much every day.

I mainly enjoy the contests they hold, and it's helped me design even better levels.

When I started here I was 16. What do kids do after school that don't have jobs? Play games. Well, I did at least. I stumbled across this site and thought it was pretty cool. I whipped up a hack in like 2 days and it got rejected.

*Insert rocky training montage music*
- Submit a hack, hack gets rejected.
- fixes hack, gets rejected.
- reads forums
- plays featured hacks
- submits hack, gets rejected
- fixes hack, gets accepted!
- learns more and more
- submits hack, gets accepted!
- learns more
- submits hack, gets featured!

Seriously though, once my hack got featured I knew it was from hard work and not giving up. Thanks to this site I figured out that if I set my mind to something and concentrate all my mental energy into a project, I can make something special. That incentive helped me graduate university and start new projects.

SMWC helped me indirectly, and basically improved my life. Who would have thought Super Mario World could have such an impact?

Also thanks to the community here for being understanding and helpful on the forums. If it weren't for the community I would have never been able to create what I have. Also they got me into a certain show. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing though.

It depends on whether the fan enjoys the show for a good reason, and not letting it run his or her life or is obsessed to the point of real life going to waste?

Of course, I probably wouldn't be a fan of that same show if not for this site.

Everyone who says that hacking SMW as a life lesson builder is dub and stupid, is dumb and stupid and stupid and dumb. Hacking SMW really goes far with life, dedication and resume building. It's strange what a SNES launch game can do to teach life lessons.

EDIT: That is to say, anyone who bashes SMW hacking for helping someone in the long run is an ignorant noob. I quoted you...cuz I agree so much with your sentiment.
