So I bought this game today, and it is amazing. It deserves a thread. Buy it now.
Trailer
e: It's a new Kid Icarus game created by Sakurai, that should be all the info you need.
e2: It also has hilarious dialogue and great gameplay, if that is any merit.

Just got around to beating the game earlier today, and it's a fantastic game. A lot better than I expected going into it anyway.

My biggest concerns were controls and repetitive gameplay. The land controls were horribly disorienting for me going in, but once you callibrate it in the options a bit and play for a while, the controls feel great. The gameplay is also a lot more varied than I assumed it would be. Some chapters feel similar to others, but there's a lot of curveballs and gimmicks thrown in to make them feel fresh.

The online mode is also a lot of fun. I've played Light vs Dark for several hours as of now, and have been trying to figure out the best weapon/power setup. Right now I have a Fortune Bow with 5 star range (0 melee :( ) and has Overall defense +1, Confusion +1, and Forward-dash cont. fire +1, among other attributes. That with my power setup of Slipshot Lvl 2 (shots can go through walls), Homing Boost Lvl 3, Transparency Lvl 2 (turns you invisible), and Jump Glide Lvl 1 is pretty amazing in battle. My Fortune Bow's forward charged dash attack can do ~110 damage per hit, so that along with Slipshot and Homing Boost is an easy killer. Transparency and Jump Glide help in getting away from opponents easily. The Value on the Fortune Bow is only 255 too, which is a bit below average from what I've seen online; meaning I shouldn't be too much of a burden on the team's health meter if I die. But yeah big technical paragraph.

Some of the challenges in the Treasure Hunt seem pretty insane, and I think that'll add a good amount of replayability.
Yay, finally a official KI:U thread. :D

Anyway, I got one of those sand weapons (I just don't know their english name D:) which shoots out tornadoes and such, and it has 3 stars on everything, and a value of 265.

Anybody wants to exchange friend codes so we could play? =)
I'm getting it soon (just ordered it) and I'm already pretty hyped for it. Especially the multiplayer appeals me. So I'm gonna be back with real opinions soon :P
I finished the singleplayer mode a few days ago and i got to say, it's one of the better games i've played in general.

It was a horrible time getting used to it and fixing up the controls so i can play it (I'm left-handed, and not a single store here sells the circle-pad pro), but once i got it all fixed up, i enjoyed every bit of it. I also love how random the game can be.

I have yet to play multiplayer because i have no wifi, but i hope to real soon.
So, I just got the game today and I played a few hours and I think that the multiplayer is awesome (Light vs. Dark at least free for all is a bit too overloaded for me). The controlls aren't that great, the moving and shooting is alright but really don't like turning the camera at the moment. I kinda turn it too far and things like that.

I never use the screen to turn the camera, you can have it set so that one set of buttons can move the camera, and the other controls the movement. I'm left handed, so i get the control stick for the camera, but i'm gonna need to get the circle pad pro to be able to play better for movement
I'm playing and loving Uprising at the moment. It's just a brilliantly designed and polished experience throughout; the dialogue and voice acting is especially top-notch. It's true, the camera does take a little bit to get used to, and even relatively late in the game, I often find myself walking into (or off of) things that I couldn't see, but it's a great thing that the game lets the player change everything about the controls.

Currently, I use the Raptor Claws and Earthmaul Club; they each have about 5 star ranges, and that is absolutely deadly with the latter weapon. In addition, the Raptor Claws have +3 speed, so I'm dashing about like crazy all of the time.

You should adjust the sensitivity in the options menu some more if you haven't already. I had to go back and forth between the settings menu and the game a lot, but I finally found an option that's comfortable for me to use. It took a while to get used to the game, but now the controls are second nature.

Also, for anyone interested: The weapon fusion system has been figured out enough to be able to determine which weapons will fuse together to form what (nifty link). Currently there's no way of telling what modifiers or Ranged/Melee values get carried over during fusion, but with the Prima Guide coming out in a couple of weeks I'm hoping that'll shed some light on it. Only reason I'm optimistic for the Prima Guide is--while I don't expect it to fully explain the fusion system--it stated in the book summary that it gives extensive information on how to get the weapon fusion Treasure Hunt challenges (ie get a ____ weapon with a ____ modifier). So hopefully it'll tell something new about weapon fusions!
I beat the game a few days ago, and I personally think it's one of the best games Nintendo made, and it might possibly be one of the best that will be made for the 3DS. I am now trying to beat all of the chapters on 9.0 intensity. The closest I've come is 8.7 on the first one.

I have an Earthmaul Club with 6 stars for Range and Melee, but it's my third strongest. My strongest is a Twinbellows cannon.

I have 10 Twinbellows cannons; does anyone see that as a problem?

I finally got the first stage completed on 9 intensity a month or so ago, the first transportation of the stage is a lot more difficult then the second for me. Iirc, i used a Violet Palm with a value of 295; Speed+4, Forward-dash charge shot +3, Backward dash continuous fire + 3, and evasion +2. (edit: also 3 and a half stars for range)

Needless to say, all i did was spam dash attacks back and fourth...

Edit: I think i got my better weapons playing multiplayer then the singleplayer mode.

When going for 9.0 runs I've had better luck using some of the Palms. Right now I'm using
Aurum Palms with 5 Star Ranged
(spoilers'd since it's an unlockable weapon with a sorta spoilery name), and it makes the Air segments a walk in the park for the most part. I've actually gone through a lot of the air segments in various chapters on 9.0 without getting damaged with those. It's the standing continuous fire that makes it awesome.

But I tend to fall apart in the land segments with palms.

Try to make use of the fact that all the aurum weapons have pretty short cooldown time and bring powers like quick charge. and generally you could bring stuff like a bunch of healing and instant death attack. and beyond that maybe try making another weapon with as big of overall defense, in peril attack and dodge boosts as you can.
Every now and then I'll try to mess around with the weapon fusion system but it usually ends in disaster for me :). Would really love to have some Aurum Palms with Overall Defense +8, an In-Peril Autododge modifier, maybe some Recovery Effect boost and a Health increase, with 6 star ranged. Too bad that will never happen!

I entirely forgot about the Instant Death Attack power. I haven't seen how much space that takes up on the power board, but that would probably be very useful in a lot of levels, since the problems I have the most trouble with are the enemy endurance levels like Chapter 21.
So it has come to my attention recently that some people have not still not bought this amazing game. Not having a 3DS is no excuse; not buying this game is incorrect (minorly spoilery title warning for the last three). Seriously, this game has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard for any game; it's nothing short of spectacular. Also the voice acting. Everyone was amazing, but the guy who voiced
Hades
was absolutely phenomenal.
