| Tip: Try sketching out ideas for overworlds and levels. Even if they don't manage to fit into Lunar Magic completely, at least you have a base to work from, instead of doing it all from scratch. |

So...for almost a year now, I have been using a phone service known as MetroPCS. The monthly bills are good, having to pay fifty bucks a month is pretty convenient, the phone has everything I could ever need on a phone such as internet on the go, apps, and unlimited EVERYTHING. My only complaint? It's a perfect phone...THAT'S PERFECTLY SLOW AND DROPS EVERY PROGRAM I OPEN. Closes Messaging, AIM, the internet, all on me whenever the phone goes too slow. I'm actually surprised it doesn't drop its calls on me when I'm in the middle of them.
So...I basically pay fifty bucks a month for crappy technology. I have a number of options, primarily two (wow, I could be Two Face >.>) at the moment: switch my phone, or switch my phone service.
I don't know if it would make much of a difference if I got a different phone from the same phone company -- MetroPCS -- but I have been looking at other services. I hate Cingular, and AT&T is too cheap even for my standards. I have been looking at Verizon and T-Mobile though.
In short, I ask--HELP! PLEASE! I don't wanna throw away fifty bucks a month anymore for a phone that is all kinds of crappy to me no matter how well I treat it! Please no suggestions to take apart the phone and try and fix the hardware; the hardware isn't the issue.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Cingular hasn't existed for years, AT&T bought them.
What phone? Also, I'm pretty sure MPCS uses Sprint, and their data network sucks a big one.

Probably explains why my phone sucks so hard then...
The phone is an Android, HUAWEI-M860, version 2.2.2 -- not sure if all of THAT info helps. Also, I never knew Cingular was bought out. See, this is what happens when TV is taken over 24/7 at home...

You don't need TV to be informed.
Anyways, seems like they're giving they're scraping the bottom barrel for phones; Huawei makes nice phones, but that's not one of them. Since MetroPCS isn't a GSM-style carrier, you can't simply plop the SIM into a better phone; you need to activate a new phone on their network, and I don't think they're known for good phones...
If you're looking for a good US carrier, I recommend not MetroPCS. Sprint is good for unlimited data, Verizon for raw speed, AT&T for phone compatbility, and T-Mobile for cheapness. (Please use GSM carriers! Roaming is null when you can just swap SIMs with a prepaid foreign one, and makes switching phones and carriers easier.)
For good phones, Nexuses are the only answer. Galaxy S-series comes close. HTC Jet/One X looks great as well.

God, the U.S. carrier market sounds like a nightmare. I'm so glad that GSM is standardized all over Europe.

There are different frequencies, but with penta-band phones that are unlocked, like the Galaxy Nexus, it's simple.
CDMA is a nightmare and needs to die. Like GSM + DRM.

I've been looking into T-Mobile, if only for the price. My boss has a plan under T-Mobile, four phones for 200 bucks a month--so logically, fifty bucks a month for one phone under a plan. He showed me his phone on break one night, and it runs a hell of a lot faster than my phone. Thanks though for the input!

T-Mobile is very good for cheapness. If you get a good phone like the GALAXY NEXUS, and use WiFi whenever possible with VOIP calling, you can easily be cheapo.

Makes calls over the internet instead of cell voice networks. Like Google Voice or Skype.

Fair warning, it's bloody expensive off-contract.
The best cheap-ass phone is the ZTE Blade.

Just here to confirm this. It's a few years old now but it's bloody good phone unless your primary goal is to play games.
I don't know what kind of performance improvements cyanogenmod9 (Android 4.0) will bring though.
Oh and did I mention it's incredibly easy to root and flash a new rom on? Just be careful about the wifi though. The ZTE Blade generally dislikes open connections, while password-protected connections are fine.
