This music...

When I go in the level setted with this music, it goes normally, but in a certain point the music fades out, the jump sound, hitting enemy sound don't work no more.

Maybe the problem is the TXT file...or maybe tha sample bank...??

Help me!!
Hi S.N.N.

Try this.

SFX don't usually like samples, but with ARAM you can work around that.

probably older Addmusics didn't require to redefine the instruments on SFX channels, I dunno...

Problem not solved!
Maybe the problem is the sample bank? Listen to the spc...

At 18 seconds, when that strange strument begin, the music fades out! Also jump sound etc... don't are hearded anymore.

Please help!!
IIRC, this port was removed and not fixed for HFD's AM4 which actually tunes differently than the old Romi's Addmusic. You probably want to fiddle with the $E5 commands a little bit. Specifically the tuning command.
...errrr....WHAT?

Sorry, I'm not good at music porting, can you explain me better?
The basic $E5 command is this

$E5 $XX $YY

Where $YY is tuning.

From what I recall, the tuning values in HFD's Addmusic are different to the tuning values in Romi's Addmusic. Mess around with that value till it sounds in tune.
He means that you should play a bit with the $E5 Command, which loads the Samples and gives them a Rough Pitch (how high or deep the instrument should be). Search in the TXT for a Command like this:

$E5 $XX $YY

XX is the Sample Number in the .BNK increased by 80. If you'd load Sample 12, you would write 92 (12+80=92).

BUT DON'T MESS UP WITH THAT! LET IT BE.

YY is the Tune of the Sample, play a bit with that. For example, you would write 03. If it's too deep, higher by one so it becomes 04. Go on until you have a nice Value.

marioVSshadow: When I pressed Preview, I saw your Post #w{=3}
Nope, the samples are tuned correctly. You don't need to retune the instruments (at least those who play before 00:18, since the song crashes from there!)
In game SPC = Provided SPC.

Also, I never used Romi's Addmusic myself, but I'm pretty sure the $E5 tuning values shouldn't change since they use the same values as SMW's instruments (stored in ARAM).
So what I have to do? I don't have to use that song?
Please, this song is so EPIC!

The tuning is exactly the same as Romi's/Carol's $E5, you don't have to change those at all. My only assumption is the header. The SPC lui37 provided for the original had an original echo buffer with an echo delay of $01 which (if I recall correctly) doesn't break the spc because it doesn't leak into the halfway point where the original Romi's MORE.bin was placed.

In order for it to work with HFD's addmusic, you have to put a header on it.

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
;;;;;LEVEL MUSIC HEADER!!!!!
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
$ED $80 $6D $2B ; Echo buffer x2B00
$ED $80 $7D $00
$F0 ; Echo = Off
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

If you put that at the very top of your txt it should work.

The reason we removed it from the music section in the first place was because it lacked overall quality and broke on accurate emulators.

I changed the header with SlashMan's one, but still don't work!#mlp{s}

I saw that yoshifanatic used this song in his hack....so he has fixed it in a certain way....or simply used Romi's addmusic, I dunno.

Let's wait yoshifanatic answer my help and maybe we will solve the matter. I also send him a PM, so he should answer me...I hope.
The problem with that song is that there is an $ED command in channel #3 that looks perfectly normal (since the attack/decay value is less than 80) that is breaking the song for some reason. To fix this song, go to line 136 (which should be in channel #3), then look for this:

@13 $ED $4D $F5 $DE $01 $34 $68

Change that to this:

@13 $ED $0E $F6 $DE $01 $34 $68

I have no idea why the $ED $4D $F5 causes this song to break, though. I know that that is why the song is breaking, since I had the same problem with this song (and a few others), and changing that was the only thing that worked.

Anyway, hope this helps! :)
Yoshi fanatic wins! It worked!

Everyone who replied will get credit! Thank you for all the support.
That's in times like this I think this site is fantastic...#mlp{rd}
