| Tip: Only use a few different kinds of enemies per level. Overdoing it can make your level feel disjointed and clunky. |

On this level I'm working on, I have some parts with lava on Layer 2 with L1 objects supposed to be in front of the lava. Yet, in game, the lava will always be above the L1 objects, no matter what I do. In other parts of the sublevel, though, I have lava on L1 and objects on L2, and there, the lava is in front of the L2 objects just as it should be. I just need help explaining why the lava being on L2 is forcing it to the front, but the L2 general objects are not being forced into the front.

Objects on layer 2 with layer priority enabled will go in front of objects on layer 1 with layer priority disabled. Solution: create lava tiles without layer priority using the Map16 editor and use those instead when you want the lava to go behind layer 1.

Oh, of course, layer priority. Thanks.
