Okay guys, my hack has been frozen and broken since there are weird data files in my ExGFX folder and I am pretty sure I've messed it up with some patch at some stage.
The good thing is: There's nothing severely messed up, and I can copy/paste the ExGFX files into a new folder, but that still doesn't get rid of the fact that I've probably made a bad patch somewhere.
Now, to fix my hack, I need to know once and for all which patches are applied when, since I never really knew and hence didn't work on my ROM for half a year now.
What I think is the following order:
Clean ROM
Custom music
HDMA patches / level asm patches
Cutscene Tools implementation
Level transfer, palette transfer, ExGFX transfer, Overworld transfer
Sprite tool, block tool
Hex Edits
Other stuff like Level Entrance Repointer, Status Bar Editor etc.
Would that work or is there anything that has priority?

A thing like this happened to me in the old times, when I started hacking. I can say you that in my case I inserited a patch and the rom BOOOOOOM! Also in the Exgraphic folder strange gfx files appear.
Maybe you inserited a patch and used a bad freespace...
I suggest you taking a new baserom, copy eventually modified levels, search for the good graphics, inserit custom music if they're some, and in the end apply the patches you inserited, staying careful on the freespace choosing. For that, I remeber there's a tool named "slogger" that will verificate the freespaces of your rom.
Hope I helped, if there's more, ask me!

Patches can probably be applied dead last, after tools. The order in which you apply them shouldn't matter unless there's a conflict somewhere.
Also I recommend making plenty of backups while doing the porting. If one patch is breaking your ROM, you want to know which it is. If you apply them all at once without testing, you won't have a goddamn clue what's breaking. One at a time, test test test.
Might take a couple hours but any hack can be ported.

It may even take a few minutes, if you are somewhat fast.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know.
Furthermore, yes Silver, I am 95 % sure I made a bad patch with the freespace.
Usually what I have to do is, use slogger to create the text file with the freespace, then look at the LoROM offset and copy/past that one (minus the "0x") into the asm file, right?
Now last thing I need to know, how do I know how much free space I need for a certain patch? I guess I used offsets with lots of space but who knows, could be wrong as well..

If you want to conserve space....
- start in an empty bank,
- apply the first patch,
- use slogger again,
- put the next patch after the first one,
- repeat until out of patches.
Otherwise just shove them wherever. It's what I do. Future levels/etc can fill in the gaps.

Also, as final tip, I recommend you expand your rom at 4,00 Mb. It is really useful to have the max space for your patches, isn't it?
Hope I helped you!
