4/4/12: Edit to remove April Fools content
First I want to introduce the main character that you will have the
opportunity to play as: Raichu. Yep I’m choosing that
old pokemon from the first Pokemon games. May seem like an odd choice but he seems
likeable enough and a more original character than Mario, Sonic,
Samus, etc.
Okay the story is pending I may go with the following if you guys actualy like it:
Raichu (you) is the ruler of a Massive kingdom of pokemon and treats everyone with respect.
However things will soon change when Raichu is relaxing in his hot tub on a late evening.
Completely out of his control he sparks up and releases a colossal bolt of lightning
(think “thunder” attack times 10) and this causes the entire castle of Raichu to be decimated.
After all the electricity has left Raichu’s body he faints. When he wakes up he’s in an unfamiliar
forest, certainly not the one has ruled over for years. This is where the game begins.
Slowly you will figure out what has happened and who the ruler of the unknown land is.
Without giving too much away I’ll tell you that you’ll have to collect 8 ancient moon stones
which are very important to both you and the enemy. Raichu doesn’t know what they do
but is sure that the evil pokemon want to harness the power to make something massive and destructive.
The start of the first level called “Mech Forest”.
In a later stage in the forest world you’ll get to head underground.
The game will have a big story some expect a lot of cutscenes.
In world 4 you will get to explore the poke center (ran by pokemon of course). This world will have a special mission which is finding the correct sick pokemon to save. One of these pokemon can show you the way to the next world. Unfortunetly Raichu has no way of knowing and will select the wrong one to save. Luckily he’ll experience a Groundhog Day/Majoras Mask style day repeat until he saves the correct pokemon. So each level in World 4 will be a day and you’ll get to explore different parts of the building on each day. The last day/level of world 4 will end with you saving the correct pokemon.
Near the end of the game you’ll be forced into a “Hunger Games” style "fight to the death" war. Thirty pokemon enter but only one will leave alive. This will account for the final wolrd in the game. In each level you’ll either battle, evade, or team up with other competitors. Multiple alliances will be formed before the end. As you play through levels you’ll occasionally see holograms projected into the sky showing pokemon who have fallen similar to how it was shown in the movie “The Hunger Games”.
Also as you can see from the screens I haven't altered the status bar yet. It'll be changed later.
In case you missed it here is the April Fools content (EVERYTHING BELOW IS FAKE):
The world 1 boss: Butterfear. This simple boss will move back and forth in the sky and occasionally dive bomb you. To hurt him you simply hop on his head. After a few hits he’ll start using “Stun Spore” which will stun you temporarily if it touches you.
Here is an outdate pic of the first sub world. I’ll have a newer one up soon.

Started the demo and I found some weird glitch:
Near the middle of level 1 I just fell through the floor! It didn’t happen every time I touched the ground though…
The rest is cool so far though.

It looks quite nice, I will probably download it when I get back to a location where I have a clean ROM.
That being said, I think your Overworld map needs a little work. I understand you're being true to the Pokemon games with it, but I think it looks far too sketchy, and I don't get a feeling of an adventure from looking at it.
The ExGFX look great. The Pokeball for the question block was an odd choice, but it's explanatory, and does its job. Perhaps if a bit more shading was applied. However, the graphics as a whole look amazing. The character sprite is well put together, the backgrounds are lovely, though I would have some more cool colors, thrown into the mix, or at least take some more screenshots of cool colors. They're less stressful to the eyes, which may not be too good for advertising your hack.
Since I guess the OW and ExGFX are the only things I can judge by looks, I'll flap my fingers all over a keyboard more when I actually have access to the hack.

Sorry for being late to respond but had to travel and had no wi-fi.
Anyway most of my post contained fake content due to it being April Fools day.
The demo, story, boss, and subworld are all fake.
Don't worry though the hack is real and being worked on, but it's far under 20% complete.
All the ideas posted by the screens are what I really plan to do, with the exception of the boss and ow pics.

You actually liked this? Seems so unoriginal which is why it was part of the joke. I may just tweak this rather than coming up with a whole new story though.
Anyway like I said only the boss idea, demo, story shown above, and sub world are fake.
The "Hunger Games" and "Groundhog day" style worlds are real ideas I'm working on. All the graphics shown (except for the Subworld of course) are real and were drawn by me with the exception of the cutscene which was ripped.
The Raichu character as of now only has two frames though, it's going to be a big job getting his walking frames!
Also even though the Butterfear boss may be fake the gfx is real and I'll try to turn him into an ordinary enemy.
