Also whether previous C3s were good or not doesn't have much to do with the theme. It has to do with what was presented during them.

Seriously, I think instead of fighting (that never solved anything anyways) you should work with each other that way its a double seccess!

But fighting created the beautiful world we have today! See: American Revolutionary War, American Civil War, Cold War, Napoleonic Wars, WWI, WWII, Crusades, etc.
On topic: It's probably too late to change the theme anyways, assuming there will be one. That being said, being a whole year since the last one, this C3 should be a good one, theme or not.

C3 was good last year with the Giegar Karma Rankset in use, I loved how eShroomCorp posted random spamming and we had to save the day kinda thing. It didn't distract from C3, so whatever System says is wrong IMO.

Also just to ask a question, what were we supposed to post in this thread in the first place? "Yeah, alright, good idea, rock on!"
I'm genuinely curious, as it seems system's feedback on the topic of themes has gotten him quite a lashing from the userbase, so I don't think many of the posts would have been constructive anyways.
"If it isn't broken, don't fix it." Seems to be the mentality of the majority, but it seems like it is broken but people don't see it. If this is the case then just take the initiative and do something.
I wasn't here last year but reading a bit from this thread it seems like the theme overshadowed the event itself. If this is the case, then a theme probably isn't a good idea regardless.
Gee will I get hated on for being polite but getting the same message across?
