| Tip: Layer 3 backgrounds and tides disappear when you hit a message box, so plan your level around that. For example, you can add a sublevel without layer 3 at the start/midpoint, and include your message there. |

1. What palette does "Nintendo Presents" in GFX00 have?
2. What is the X pattern in some GFX files for?
3. What is 04's white 16x16 tile for?
4. In 05, why are there two diagonal bullet tiles? Can't they be X and Y-flipped in-game?
5. Why are some tiles copied into multiple files?
6. Why are some random 8x8 characters in some GFX?
7. What is up with all the space in some files?
8. I cannot seem to open some GFX in any format...
9. GFX32 is huge... almost a bit too big...
10. Baby and Yoshi are both in 33. Why do their GFX become glitched when together?

1. 8 IIRC. But I'm maybe wrong.
2. Nintendo blank spaces blah blah blah.
3. The castle lava.
4. They aren't simetric, actually.
6. Nintendo blank spaces blah blah blah.
7. What do you think they could put there? Also some of them are 2BPP, if you change them for it you'll see they're bigger than looks.
8. GFX27 per example? It wants a tool, go check.
9. Yeah.
10. I think this isn't understandable yet.

gfx27 is compressed mode 7 format. yy-chr currently cannot edit it as it is, iirc.
gfx32 is player tilemap. of course it needs to be big.
if you meant baby yoshi and yoshi, its because the tiles in gfx32 and 33 are all DMA'd (uploaded) dynamically to the other graphics files. SP1 only has space for 5 16x16 tiles to be uploaded. 3 of them are reserved for the player (head, body, cape), so that leaves 2 tiles for anything else, which includes Baby Yoshi, Yoshi, and Podoboo

Bullet Bills can be flipped X and Y but it is necessary to use diagonal graphics since SNES GFX hardware can't "flip" graphics diagonally.
There 8x8 tiles can be tiles that are being uploaded dinamically, like Mario's 8x8 tileset things, like his hand or the cape things.
About the Nintendo Present thing, it's actually a sprite, so it uses the YXPPCCCT properties, you can see in this address:
